Availability
I am a house spouse and available during the day, so your dog gets consistent attention and company. We have one friendly dog, so can easily add one or two more to our routine. I accept dogs up to 30 lbs as we have a toddler. Anacortes has great whale watching opportunities and I regularly care for dogs on short-notice day stays while their owners are out on the water. If you need last-minute coverage for a tour, I am happy to help.

I am comfortable picking your dog up from your yard or home for a walk or hike in the woods. I am also happy to have a play session with your pet in your home or in your yard. I have a medium-sized fenced yard, with a friendly male Cavalier dog and have dog doors into a large garage as well as into the house. I can isolate my dog into separate spaces if yours would prefer to be alone.

It is helpful to know your training style and behavior expectations so I can reinforce them while you are away, as well as any movement restrictions or special needs I can support. My dog gets along well with others, but I am happy to work with dogs that prefer to be a solo act.
A typical day
I love walking in the Anacortes Forest lands and on the Tommy Thompson with the dogs, which are both within a 10-minute walk from my home. The Ace of Hearts dog park is only a few blocks away and I walk there often and play in the small dog area with my dog. My dog love chasing balls with a chuck-it and lazing in the sun in their own south-facing room.

I have had three dogs over 17 years, including a Boston Terrier, a bossy senior Bichon rescue, and a muppet of a King Charles Cavalier. I have trained, groomed, and cared for them, and I especially love taking photos of dogs and documenting their antics and unique personalities.
