Hello dog lovers! My name is Kelsey and I am an animal lover and youth & family counsellor with the vancouver island YMCA in a variety of neurodiverse settings. I have always felt a closeness and sincere love for all animals :) I often work from home, which allows me to spend time with animals in the way that they deserve (especially when missing those they are closest to). I am a responsible individual and am genuinely excited to love and care for your furry friend! I have raised my own pup for 15 years and now have a sweet, gentle border collie named Takaya who recently turned 4! Takaya loves all dogs, but can also very easily be separated from your pup as we have a relatively large property, and I know all dogs have differing levels of comfortability around other dogs. In addition to dogs, I also have experience caring for rabbits, guinea pigs, and cats. As my work is currently flexible & often remote - I will be available the vast majority of each day to spend time caring for your loved one. Travelling frequently across Africa, Asia and South America over the years, I am truly able to empathise with other pet owners as they hope for peace of mind in regards to their pets well-being and comfort while they're away. It is my goal to offer you this sense of peace and to love your furry family member as I would my own (and as I would hope my sitter would care for my own loved ones). I can't wait to hear from you! I'm extremely fortunate to work flexibly and often remotely for the YMCA so that I may truly focus on caring for and comforting your pet while they are missing you.

Safety, trust & environment
My husband and I have a large, fenced in yard, with tonnes of outdoor and indoor space. If your furry loved one is not comfortable around other dogs, it is very easy to separate my border collie while still providing each animal with close connection and care.
Pets
A typical day
Walks are a must! I will happily and often take the dog for walks around the neighbourhood. Please let me know if there are any specific activities or places that your pup loves/frequents so that I can best create a sense of normalcy for them while they are missing you. 🩷

I believe I can be the right fit for any animal that needs care, but especially If you have a pup that struggles with anxiety, as I have a lot of experience providing a soft, gentle approach and have ample grace and understanding for the complexities of differing temperaments. It is my job to match the needs of the animals (and people) I care for, just as I would hope someone else would for my furry friends and loved ones.
