- Hank (Miniature Schnauzer) 3 years, 7 months old in Columbia, SC
Hank is a miniature schnauzer mix adopted from a local SPCA. As a stray, they estimate his age at one year old. So far, he gets along well with dogs of various sizes, especially females, and has zero food aggression. Completely housebroken, he will tell you when he needs to go out by sitting at the door and whining. We are working on basic commands and hand gestures such as sit/ stay and is treat and praise motivated. He is learning to leash walk, and is making great strides. He loves nothing more than to have his chin, ears, and butt scratched. But once he's done, he's done. Very independent in that regard. He enjoys down time playing with his toys. Having a stray background, he must be monitored out of doors. Hank came to me with a nasty bacterial infection acquired after his neutering while at the SPCA, and is sensitive about being touched around his groin. Hank is alternately goofy and serious. That's the schnauzer in him.
