I currently only work on Saturdays, so I have plenty of time during the week for your fur babies! I like to take the dogs I watch on at least one walk a day, two if the weather allows it.

I will follow whatever rules you have set forth for your dogs and your home. I always want to leave the house better than I found it, which means clean up after the dogs if they have muddy paws, mop up the puddles around the water bowl, and make sure everything is where I found it when I arrived. If the garden is fenced and allows the dogs to be outside without a lead, I'll often go out with them or stand in the doorway until they're ready to come inside.

If your dogs are early risers, let me know ahead of time so I can get my sleep schedule on track with theirs. I'd also like to know what their typical days looks like so I know the best way to plan for the service I'm hired for.
A typical day
I follow your dog's schedule! If your dogs are older and want to take a slow, short walk around the neighborhood, that's what we'll do. With the younger ones, I like to take them on different routes so they can smell knew things. Play looks different for every dog, so I'll follow their lead!

Pet care experience
My love for dogs started at a young age, as I was always around dogs growing up. In 2022, I started dog & house sitting for one of my coworkers. He and his wife spread the word, and I ended up dog & house sitting for their entire friend group. All of their dogs were seniors and I was affectionately dubbed the "geriatric dog sitter". Over the course of three years, I grew to love their dogs as much as they did and was devastated when they all crossed the rainbow bridge. I had one other dog in the group that was a young golden retriever and he's still going strong today.

Kelly Smithwick is an amazing pet sitter. She sat for us many times with our Golden Retriever, Bentley, who can be quite the handful. We never had to worry about anything when she was at our house. Bentley loved her and our house always looked better when we got home than when we left. We would highly recommend Kelly.
