I work part-time out of town, and so I have a lot of time spent at home with my own animals. I want to spend my time I have to help others too (hence also my volunteering at the animal shelter right now to).

I prefer to spend time with pets as much as allowed in their home while also following routines previously set for them. Whether it’s playing out in the back yard, or just hanging out together on the couch or floor and relaxing, I like the pet to know that I’m there and not alone. If crating is necessary or part of the dogs routine, I can do that too.

Of course it’s important to know if your pet has any certain mannerisms that id need to watch for. Are they reactive? Are they nervous? How do you make sure they feel comfortable? Also, I would want to follow any training routines that a dog might be on to keep consistent.
A typical day
Whether it’s playing with your pets favorite toys or taking them out for long walks, I can do either! I definitely believe in getting dogs out to explore and stimulate their senses!

Pet care experience
Aside from raising my own 2 fur babies ( 2 kitties now), I’ve helped take care of others’ pets from large Dobermans to small kittens. I also volunteer at a local animal shelter primarily walking and socializing with the big dogs. I lost my senior cat Meemow and senior dog Harley this year (both 15). As my title states, I’m an RN and am very comfortable with giving medications to fur babies (as I do with humans) as well as taking care of any illness issues within reason (wound care/ monitoring / accidents). When it comes to senior care of animals, I understand the need for them to get extra special love and attention, and medication to keep them as happy and healthy as possible. I believe in making pets as comfortable as possible and letting them know that I’m there to help and give love (if they want). When it comes to dog walking, I’m really vigilant about our surroundings and making sure that dogs get a good safe walk. I definitely gravitate towards animals over humans haha.

Kelly has been a dependable sitter who’s gone above and beyond for me and my dog. My dog got pretty sick after he decided to eat a roll of dog poop bags. our vet told us we’d have to watch for him to pass in his BM or else he’d need surgery and she helped watch him during the night while I had to go to work to make sure he was okay while I was gone. She made sure he was hydrated and passed the roll of bags whole. She really cared for him like a mom staying up with their sick kid. I can’t appreciate that enough.
Kelly did a great job watching my animals. She was personable and kind. She followed instructions about my care preferences and was very calm and warm to my animals. By the end of her time with them they had grown to like her very much.
Kelly is attentive, caring and reliable when taking care of your pets. She will communicate via text of any issues or concerns and send a video or photo of your pet during her visit. This always made me feel reassured especially during my longer vacation trips. I highly recommend her, she won’t disappoint!!! :)
