Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this sitter based on our experience. During our booking, the sitter told us afterward that she had experienced an unexpected medical issue that prevented her from being at our home as planned. I completely understand that unexpected situations happen. My concern is how our dogs' care was handled afterward and that none of this was communicated to us while we were away. We were never told that she was unable to continue providing the house sitting herself. Instead, her two minor daughters, both under 18, took over significant portions of the care without our knowledge or consent. This included both girls being left in our home with our dogs without the sitter for almost 24 hours, including overnight. After our trip, the sitter confirmed to me that her daughters had provided the care and that they were paid for doing so. We had provided written instructions stating that our dogs could be left alone for approximately 5–6 hours at a time. This was especially important because one of our dogs does not use the doggy door and needs someone to let him outside. After returning home and reviewing our Ring footage, we found multiple periods when no one was at the house that substantially exceeded those instructions. Our dogs were left alone for approximately 12 hours overnight, 9 hours 41 minutes, 9 hours 31 minutes overnight, and another period of approximately 7 hours. Several of the visits between these extended periods lasted only a few minutes. I contacted the sitter before leaving this review because I wanted to give her an opportunity to explain what we were seeing. She explained that a medical issue prevented her from being there and confirmed that her daughters had provided the care. I then specifically asked her to explain the extended periods when no one was at the house, but I did not receive a response. Had we been told that an unexpected issue had occurred and she could no longer provide the house sitting we booked, we would have understood and could have discussed the situation or made alternative arrangements. Instead, we had no idea while we were away that the person we hired was no longer providing much of the care herself or that our dogs were being left alone for periods far beyond our written instructions. I am sympathetic to the fact that an unexpected situation can occur. However, the lack of communication, transferring significant portions of the care to minor children without discussing it with us, and repeatedly leaving our dogs alone much longer than their care instructions allowed made this an experience I cannot recommend.

Kelly and her family took care of my puppy for over a month and did an amazing job. She and the kids gave her so much love and attention. Gemma had a blast this summer!

It was very easy to communicated with Kelly. She makes Tambor feel comfortable with her.
