I’ve been a dog owner since I was 9 years old, so caring for pets has been a lifelong part of who I am. I’m currently a proud mom to a 10-year-old furbaby, which gives me daily, hands-on experience with senior dog care, including understanding their slower pace, comfort needs, and health considerations. In addition to my personal experience, I have fostered senior and sick dogs through the East Bay SPCA in Oakland. This experience has helped me develop strong skills in providing compassionate, attentive care for pets with medical needs, mobility challenges, and special routines. I’m comfortable administering basic medications, monitoring changes in behavior or appetite, and creating a calm environment that supports healing and comfort. What sets me apart is my combination of lifelong pet ownership and real rescue/foster experience. I’m patient, observant, and deeply committed to making sure every pet feels safe, loved, and understood—whether they’re energetic puppies or fragile seniors needing extra care and attention.

Kellie was absolutely fantastic with my dog Coco. She’s on top of all the details I requested and was very caring and attentive. My dog needs a real good walk or she will be cranky and Kellie made sure that Coco got her exercise!

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already maintain a structured, responsibility-focused schedule. Regarding cats, I did grow up as a cat owner and am comfortable caring for them. However, I developed allergies in adulthood, so I can only provide cat care if I take allergy medication in advance. I’m mindful of that and make sure I can fully commit to providing proper care and attention before accepting cat-related bookings. Overall, pet care is something I integrate into my routine with consistency, structure, and flexibility to meet each pet’s needs.

Safety, trust & environment
I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment by treating every pet as if they were my own and following any instructions provided by the owner very closely. In my home or a client’s home, I make sure the space is secure, clean, and free of hazards such as small objects, toxic foods, or anything a pet could accidentally ingest. I maintain a consistent routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest to help pets feel comfortable and reduce stress, especially in a new environment. I always monitor pets closely during care, whether they are eating, playing, or outside on walks, and I never leave them unattended in unsafe situations. Leashes are kept secure, doors and gates are double-checked, and I follow any special instructions regarding behavior, medications, or dietary needs. Communication is also a key part of trust—I provide regular updates, photos, and honest check-ins so owners feel confident their pet is safe and well cared for at all times. Overall, my goal is to create a stable, loving, and stress-free environment where pets feel secure and cared for while their owners are away.

A typical day
I love keeping pets active and happy with fun, safe activities like daily walks, playtime (fetch, tug-of-war, and toys), and enrichment games like treat puzzles or hide-and-seek. I also enjoy giving pets plenty of affection, brushing, and calm bonding time. For senior pets, I focus on gentle walks, comfort, and relaxed companionship. I always adjust activities based on each pet’s personality, age, and energy level.
