About Copper

Copper is a vocal dog considering he is a hound mix. He is very friendly and sweet and wants to be everyone's friend. He has a hard time listening when outside due to his nose taking over, so he needs to be kept on a leash at all times when outdoors.

    As soon as he knows where the door to outside is, he will touch the doorknob and wine when he needs to do his business.

    Copper loves kiddos! He wines/barks to play he gets so excited though he sometimes doesn't realize how big he is. He is gentle with babies and kids of all ages.
  • Gets along with other dogs: Yes
    Copper get so excited when he sees other dogs that he barks and runs at them so sometimes they interpret his over eagerness as aggression, but he submits because he just wants to play
  • Gets along with cats: Yes
    He's been friendly to neighborhood cats through our screen door but I assume he'd be fine with them

Special Requirements

Needs to be on leash at all times when in an unenclosed area. If he sees something he likes he'll bolt.

About Amber

Amber is a gentle hearted girl who only wants love and affection. She likes to be around people and will push to be the center of attention. She was abused before we found her so she needs people to be patient with her, but as long as you're nice and have calm energy she should be sweet.

    She will stare you down to let you know she needs to go out, when you ask her "Do you need to potty?" she jumps with excitement and will run to the door when she has been show that's the door to exit when she needs to potty.

    Though she’s not around children often when she's been around toddlers of family and older children she's been very sweet and gentle.
  • Gets along with other dogs: Yes
    Amber is cautious at first around other dogs. If she is intimidated by their size she may growl but once she's told no to being grumpy, she'll just avoid them. A meet a greet would be best to see how she is around others :)
  • Gets along with cats: No
    She was a stray and shows signs of hunting ability when she sees cats/rodents etc.

Special Requirements

Has separation anxiety regarding Copper being out of sight. Needs to be on leash when not in an enclosed area.
