Availability
There is almost always a responsible adult home in our house. If we are away it's usually not longer than it takes to drop one of our younger children off at their activities. Three of our children are college age/adults, and often enjoying helping with and entertaining the guest dogs. Our younger children love playing with the guest dogs and will help make sure the dogs who enjoy playful activities are never bored. They also are happy to just sit and cuddle your pups if that is more their speed. We are able to accomidate pets who need frequent potty breaks, or other frequent care needs. If your dog likes to sleep close to someone we can accommodate that as well.

We have a large fenced in back yard where your dog can enjoy a game of fetch, and other recreational activities. We can house our guest dogs in a large family room which gives them a lots of interaction with our family. We have two dogs of our own who are accustomed to having guest dogs around and enjoy the company. We will introduce the dogs to each other slowly if they all seem interested, or we can keep them separated, with plenty of space for everyone, if that seems to be the preference. Guest dogs will always be fed seperately to avoid any stress during meals. The basement rec area is the domain of our cats and while they are friendly, they and almost never interact with our dogs. If you prefer your pets to sleep in their crates or on other specific beds, you are welcome to bring those, again we try to mimic your home routines as closely as possible. We prefer to have a meet and greet before stays to make sure both people and pets are comfortable with each other. We typically conduct these in our fenced in back yard to avoid stress on any guest dogs being boarded at that time inside the home, as well as for the safety of our children.

We like to know if your animal gets along with other animals and children and we would prefer to have a meet and greet to be sure your dog will be comfortable here. If your dog has any history of agression or tends toward being stressed in certain situations, please let us know. If your dog is on medication, please write out the schedule and dosages so we can be sure to administer is properly. If your dog has dietary restriction or concerns please let us know. We often like to share treats with guest dogs, but we will only do so with your permission. If your dog has special care routines, please let us know during the meet and greet so we can be sure to we are clear on your ecpectations.
A typical day
We have multiple outside trips a day with our large fenced in back yard. Our younger children, who are homeschooled, often like to join in on playing with the dogs both indoors and out if the dogs enjoy that type of interaction. We also take time to do whatever fun activities your dogs enjoy, from games of fetch to cuddles on the couch, our goal is to make your dogs feel loved and at home while the are staying with us.

Pet care experience
Our guest dogs are treated like part of the family when they are with us. Their comfort and safety is our top priority. I work from home as a software developer, and my wife, Becky works from home part time, while also home schooling our younger children. So there is almost always someone home with the dogs. Our love of animals has been with us our whole lives and I even got a degree in Zoology/Pre-Vet. Our children have been raised around animals as we have always had at least one dog in the house. We have had dogs in the past that required both oral and injection medication and are happy to provide that care for your pets as needed. Since our guest dogs are treated like part of the family we are not able to take dogs/breeds that tend towards aggression to people or other dogs. We have a large fenced yard the dogs can run and play in. Our kids love playing fetch and other games with the dogs. We listen carefully to the owners description of their pups home routine, and do our best to mimic those rules and routines to lesson the stress they may feel from being away from home.
