I am a college student with a very open and flexible schedule which allows me to accommodate for a variety of timetables throughout the week. I especially want to focus on gaining any kind of experience working with animals, so pet care will be of the utmost priority for me.

At a client's home, I make sure to provide as much companionship, comfort and entertainment as needed for the given pet. I am always open to doing anything the pet wants within the guidelines of the client, whether it be walking around outside, playing a game, or simply cuddling. Even if I am doing just a simple check in/feeding of a pet, I like to stay around for a good 10-20 minutes to ensure that the pets are settled and happy.

A typical day
I love exploring all kinds of places that your dog would want to go to, whether it be an open area like a park or a more enclosed area like a neighborhood. I know of a park that I like to go to for walks that has plenty of open land to explore as well as an area of trails in the woods with small creeks. Besides going for walks, I am more than happy to play and/or cuddle with your dog, depending on what they want. Whether it be playing fetch or tug of war, cuddling on the couch, or exploring the park on a walk anything works for me as long as they are happy!

Pet care experience
I've been taking care of dogs and cats ever since I was 10, starting with my first pet dog. From there, I have been able to gain more experience as I took care of my neighbors and family friends dogs and cats. Neighbors and family friends have relied on me to care for their given pets multiple times, ranging from outdoor activities to overnight stays. The most significant experience I had was working as a dog handler and kennel aid at a boarding kennel for dogs and cats from my junior to senior year of high school. At this boarding kennel, I was able to learn and work with characteristics related to the breeds, ages, and personalities of a variety of dogs and cats. This workplace helped me gain skills such as keeping up with a fast paced environment, communication, administering medicine for pets, maintaining a feeding/cleaning schedule, understanding/reading animal behavior and always having patience and kindness for each individual animal.

Keira was awesome— again— with our kitties! One of them needs 2 pills/day and it’s been so nice to have found someone so capable and reliable! I highly recommend her!
As always Keira was amazing with Max, our senior cat. We are so thankful that we found her. I know he loves her company and cuddles.
Keira takes incredible care of our senior kitty Max. We know she gives him tons of attention & we love being sent the pictures and updates of him while we’re gone.
