Availability
Schedule: Austin is fully remote and I am partially. This allows us the flexibility to always be available to attend our visiting pups needs. Other than for the quick errand run or dinner out, pups will never be alone. Outside time: Pups have access to the backyard for play and potty breaks as much as they want. Our yard is large and secured with a privacy fence that is 7.5ft tall and has an additional 1.5ft of lattice underground. We also typically take our pups on one walk a day, weather permitting, and any good walking friends are welcome to join if requested. We will not walk with any friends that have leash aggression, or reactive walking behaviors, nor can we manage excessive pulling with large dogs. We are happy to play in the yard with friends that need extra stimulation, but a dog walker will need to be hired for any situation outside of what was just described.

Availability: Austin and I prioritize maintaining a safe, happy environment for dogs that are staying with us. For this reason, we only accept dogs from the same family at any given time, unless there are requested special circumstances - such as dogs that already know each other. Due to this limited availability, please note that we cannot hold spots prior to confirmation of booking. Kenneling: Austin and I allow pups to be wherever they want, including on the furniture/bed. You must please let us know if you would like your pup to stay off furniture to facilitate your training. We can also handle night-time kenneling upon request, however, we reserve the right to take pups that are typically kenneled out if they are stressed or crying for long periods of time. Although your pup may be okay to be kenneled at home, our pups are not and sometimes being in a kennel while another dog is not can cause upset. It can also be stressful for our pups when other dogs are crying! Things to bring: Upon drop off, it is mandatory to bring a pup's collar, food, and necessary health products/medications. While treats and chews are optional, for the saftey and health of our furry friends, please note we do not provide food of any kind for our friends without prior consent and these items are suggested to help keep friends relaxed and happy during their visit. We also recommend bringing a blanket, bed, or shirt that smells like home to help your pup transition. All reusable and nonmedical supplies such as toys, brushes, bowls, beds, leashes, poop bags, kennels, etc. can be supplied by us. Feel free to bring any of your pups toys as well, however we can not guarantee they will return in one piece! Things not to bring: We do not allow flea and tick collars to be worn around our dogs. Please remove them prior to any stay and plan accordingly by using a chewable or other alternative prevention. We like to also note that we do use a natural, peppermint-based flea and tick preventative spray, which is applied daily to both our dogs and visiting dogs and our yard is treated with natural, non-toxic methods.

Information Kaylyn R. would like to know about your pet
Austin and I are open to most dog personalities and needs, so please let us know the following before a meet and greet is scheduled: - Medical conditions or issues that require special care or attention. - Behavioral issues. - Dietry Restrictions (I love to bake organic treats!). - Exercise/Activity Preferences. NOTE: If your dog has undisclosed marking or untrained pottying behaviors, the listed daily puppy fee will be charged. This fee will NOT be charged to dogs whom are elderly or have medical issues that affect their bladder. Failure to disclose aggression will result in the cost of any injures imposed by the pup and transfer to another Rover sitter. If you let us know before hand, we can prepare to avoid these issues!
A typical day
Generally, we like to tailor enrichment based on each of our friends unique needs and routine home life. If pups are used to a night time fetch session or a sniff/puzzle board, let us know! We also typically walk our pups once a day and so long as it is safe and healthy for your pup to join, they will! If your dog isn’t big on walking or has health issues, we can just hang out!

Pet care experience
Hello, we are Kay and Austin! I am an attorney. Austin is a veteran and HR manager. We both work remotely and have been watching pups for 8 years, starting when we were in undergrad. After starting our careers, we couldn't part with all the fur friends we'd grown attached to and frankly, we and our two fur babies just love having the company, so we decided to keep our doors open to visitors. In our home, your pup(s) will have lots of love and attention. Our pups love to play if yours want to, though they are very good with older pups that want their space as well. We have a spacious, stair-free home with a large fully-fenced, chemical-free backyard, including an accessible area with a ramp and overhead coverage we made specifically for our old, disabled and little pup friends to enjoy safely. We have no children and our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. As shelter volunteers, former foster dog parents and myself having a formal education in pre-vet studies, including a completed 6-month veterinarian clinic internship, we are highly knowledgeable of care for dogs with special medical needs and separate anxiety. Keeping visiting friends safe and happy is the priority and we believe this is achieved by meeting the individual needs and replicating the routines of each pet, so please let us know how we can do so and thus make your pup’s stay happy and stressfree. Our purpose for having pup visitors is to provide us and our pups company, so please note: 1. We only take one household at a time. 2. We do not accept aggressive dogs or excessively unregulated/untrained dogs that may cause injury because of their combined size, energy and lack of socialization. 3. We do not accept dogs with marking behaviors. We have two fur babies that are very sweet and respectful. They are great with active pups that want to play, as well as old dogs that just want to be alone or near humans. They also absolutely adore and are very gentle with puppies and small-breeds. If that all sounds like a fit for you, please let you know and message us with any questions! - Kay
Reviews

Kaylyn was wonderful to work with, very flexible and understanding as I delt with urgent dental care. I'm so glad my dog had a safe and fun place, it made the day much less stressful. Thank you!!

Pearl had a really awesome stay with Kay. I got updates and photos to let us know that Pearl was doing well. Hoping to book a future stay for Pearl in a few months.

Pearl had a great stay with Kay. Great backyard and home. Kay is very nice and loves dogs. Great communication and Pearl loved playing with her dogs.

Kaylyn provided a great place for our two pups to stay while we were out of town. She was quick to respond and quick to set up a meet and greet which was very helpful. She provided pictures and videos during our stay and overall our two dogs seemed to enjoy their time at Kaylyns.
