Kaylie: Your Pets Fun Companion

Hi! My name is Kaylie. I work at Market Basket in Welsh, Louisiana, and I’ve been pet sitting since January 2025. I really love animals and have experience with dogs and cats of all sizes and personalities. I’m responsible, reliable, and always make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and well taken care of while their owners are away. I stick to feeding schedules, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, and giving pets plenty of attention so they don’t feel lonely.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I prioritize building trust with both pets and their owners. I am gentle, attentive, and focused on your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being. I do not offer boarding in my home, as I have pets of my own, so all care takes place in your home to maintain a familiar and secure environment for your pet.

Pros: -very responsive to texts. -corrects things if confronted -returned to our home clean Cons: -needs monitoring -takes multiple bookings (told us on our way to the airport—instead of 2 months earlier when we met her) -did not prioritize our dog until we voiced our concerns We met kaylie and her partner 2 months before booking to introduce her to our dog. We told her our dog’s 2 meal times and showed her our outdoor cameras. On the first day of her stay, my husband took our dog on a walk with kaylie to show her where we go. She informed him that she had multiple bookings (not sure how many house stays) and he had no choice but to agree. He made sure that she would be staying at our home overnight. The very first day kaylie was to be staying at our home, she met us for a re run of instructions and left immediately once instructions were done at noon. She was gone until 7pm (dinner) fed our dog, took a photo, and left 5 min later. She returned at 1 am. The next day she was gone all day and fed our dog dinner at 10 PM. We were many miles away and distraught that while our dog was being fed twice a day when she found it convenient (not at instructed times), he had no exercise and no company until it was time to sleep. We confronted her the next day and she agreed to walk our dog and prioritize him and be at our home during the day. She took him on a walk that next day, but never again. She did however stay with him during the day and night for the remainder of her two week stay. We had concerns her other bookings were likely getting ignored, but ultimately we were so relieved our dog now had company. She confided that she was going through a lot of tough things to excuse her initial absence. I would like to trust that it was true. I told her that had she told us first that she had to be away for the day to deal with an emergency, we would have understood. I would not book her again.

⚠️ DANGEROUS NEGLECT & UNAUTHORIZED GUESTS - POLICE REPORT FILED I hired Kylie for House Sitting, and I returned to a nightmare. This was not just "bad service"; it was dangerous negligence and a severe security breach. 1. MEDICAL NEGLECT & ANIMAL CRUELTY: My logs confirm my dogs were left alone for 14 hours. My senior dog has heart disease and requires medication strictly every 12 hours. Because the sitter abandoned them, she missed a life-saving dose. I returned to find her lethargic and sick. The 14-hour absence also caused my other dog to get trapped in a bedroom, damaging the door in a panic to escape confinement without food or water. 2. IDENTITY FRAUD & UNAUTHORIZED GUESTS: Evidence confirms an unauthorized individual (not the booked sitter) was in my home. Handing off access codes to strangers is a massive safety violation. 3. UNAUTHORIZED USE & PROPERTY DAMAGE: I found my washing machine lock "force unlocked" and broken. The sitter denied using it, but I found a pair of underwear not belonging to me inside the washer drum and another pair in my laundry hamper. I also found lubricants in the bedroom. They were using my home for personal/sexual activities, not pet care. 4. REFUSAL TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY: Despite photo evidence of the broken washer, the foreign items found inside, and the timestamped logs of the 14-hour absence, the sitter denied liability and blamed my dogs for the damage caused by her neglect. I have filed a police report for criminal mischief/trespassing and opened a Trust & Safety claim with Rover. DO NOT TRUST THIS SITTER WITH YOUR HOME OR PETS.

My schedule is usually 1–7 every week, with an occasional random shift mixed in during the week. I work about 30 hours a week, so I’m only available for drop-ins or walks at this time. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always do my best to make sure both pets and owners feel comfortable and at ease.

To provide the best care possible, it’s helpful for me to know: • Your pet’s daily routine (feeding times, walk schedule, nap times, etc.) • Any medical conditions, medications, or dietary restrictions • Favorite toys, games, or comfort items • Any behavioral quirks or triggers (e.g., fear of loud noises, not liking other animals) • Emergency contacts, including your veterinarian and preferred hospital • House rules and areas your pet can or cannot access
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
