Gentle and Loving Pet Care
Hi, I’m Kayla! I’m 23 years old and have been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. I graduated high school in 2021 and spent three years attending Folsom Lake College. My journey with pet sitting started when I was just 11, and since then I’ve had the joy of caring for all kinds of animals. Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and even every kind of farm animal you can think of! Dogs have always held a special place in my heart. My aunt bred German Shepherds for 30 years, and growing up around them (and being part of their training) gave me a deep appreciation for the breed and for dogs in general. While I’ve always had a soft spot for big dogs, small dogs have completely won me over too. I’ve cared for pups of all sizes and ages, from helping deliver newborn litters to supporting senior dogs well into their golden years.I also have experience with cats and kittens. Even though I’m allergic and can’t have one of my own, I absolutely adore them and love any chance I get to care for them. At home, I have a 12-year-old Jardine parrot named Wasabi, who is my little best friend, and a 4-year-old Russian tortoise named Yuno, who definitely keeps things interesting with her spunky personality. Outside of pet care, I work full-time as a police dispatcher in Sacramento County, primarily on weekday nights. Because of that, I’m most available on weekends, but I’m happy to offer weekday morning or afternoon drop-ins when needed. In my free time, I enjoy snowboarding, hiking, yoga, pilates, going to the gym, attending church on Sundays, and spending time with family and friends. I’m also recently engaged to my high school sweetheart, and we’re so excited to be saving for our future together. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s something I truly love, and I would be honored to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care for your pets, whether that’s through walks, drop-ins, or sitting.

When caring for pets in my client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent and comfortable as possible. I know how important it is for pets to feel safe in their own space, so I take the time to learn their usual schedule, feeding habits, exercise needs, and any special instructions. For dogs, I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship through walks, playtime, and calm interaction. For cats, I follow their lead, whether that means engaging in play or simply offering a quiet, reassuring presence. I’m especially mindful with senior pets, making sure they move comfortably, stay on their routines, and receive any extra care they may need. I always keep a clean and respectful environment by refreshing water, tidying feeding areas, and making sure litter boxes or outdoor spaces are well maintained. I’m also attentive to any changes in behavior or health and will communicate promptly if anything seems off. Above all, I treat every home with respect and every pet with genuine care and patience, making sure they feel loved, secure, and well cared for while you’re away

We’ve known Kayla since she was a little girl. She lives a few doors down from us. We would always have her take care of our cats when we travelled. When she was very little one of her parents or a grandparent would come with her to make sure she made things right. Since her family raises dogs and is very engaged in everything about pet care, she had very good exposure and experience. Over the years she took care of our cats whenever needed which was a lot, and they, even the skittish ones, responded to her voice like she was an angel as soon as she’d come in the door. We could always depend on her to know what needed to be done and to make things right.
Kayla is an extremely sweet and caring young woman. She is easy to contact, replies quick, is extremely reliable and just a joy to be around. She takes amazing care of animals, provides them with care and love. She has her own animals that she treats like her children. She has watched my animals many times and sends photos and updates and is always so attentive to them. Overall great human and would highly recommend!
I've known Kayla for about 4 years now and she has been amazing when it comes to taking out my pups for walks. I have two German Shepherds and recently expanded the family with two other dogs and she takes great care of each of them. She's very much a dog lover and it shows with how attentive she is with them and how much they absolutely love her stopping by for walks. I highly recommend her, especially if you have a larger pack.

Harmonogram
Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I work full time as a police dispatcher on weekday nights, so my schedule is a bit unique. I’m usually sleeping during the day on weekdays, but I can absolutely be available in the mornings or afternoons with enough notice. Weekends are when I’m most available, which allows me to dedicate more time to longer visits, multiple walks, or extended care. Caring for my own pets is already a big part of my daily life, so pet sitting feels like a natural extension of what I love to do. I’m used to planning my schedule around feeding times, enrichment, and making sure each animal gets the attention and care they need. Because of my work schedule, I’m very consistent, organized, and dependable. I’m intentional about not overbooking, so every pet I care for gets my full attention, patience, and genuine care.
