Availability
I am currently working as an event bartender, so my schedule is flexible. Since I’ve spent the majority of my life taking care of animals on some level, I fall into a natural cadence when caring for a pet. I aim to feed and walk all dogs as close to their regular schedule as possible. This will help keep their stress & anxiety levels low while you're away.

Safety, trust & environment
I care for pets in their home by prioritizing consistency, comfort, and clear communication. I follow your instructions closely when it comes to feeding, routines, medications, walks, and any quirks or preferences your pet may have. I aim to keep things as familiar and low-stress as possible while you're away. For drop-ins, I make sure your pet gets quality time and attention—not just the basics. Whether that means a quick potty break, playtime, or just some comforting company, I adjust to their needs. During housesits, I also take great care of your home. I’m tidy, respectful of your space, and happy to bring in mail, water plants, or keep things running smoothly so you can return to a clean, calm environment and a happy pet.

Information Kayla S. would like to know about your pet
Let me know your dog’s energy level, routine, any triggers to be aware of, like skateboards, storms, etc. If they are particularly smart, they will likely try to test me, so let me know those kinds of quirks, if applicable. Also, any and all breed info is helpful so I can research ahead of time.
A typical day
Our activities will be dependent on your dog’s breed, age, and preferences. But in general, we will go on walks in the mornings and evenings, and have short outings throughout the day. Higher energy dogs will be walked more frequently and for longer periods of time. If the dog is older or lower energy, we will walk only as much as they are comfortable. And, while I understand that stimulation is important, safety is imperative. So, I will not allow other dogs to interact with your dog under any circumstances.

Pet care experience
Hi! I have over 20 years of experience caring for animals. I grew up on a farm in North Carolina where I took care of everything from dogs and goats to emus and chinchillas. I've also worked as a dog walker here in Denver and have extensive experience with large breeds, senior dogs, and pets with special needs. A few years ago, I said goodbye to my beloved Weimaraner, Dylan, who was just shy of 14. Living with and caring for him taught me so much—especially about patience, intuition, and the unique needs of sensitive, high-energy breeds. While I’m not currently in a pet-friendly space, I love staying connected to animals through drop-in visits, regular walks, and housesitting. I treat every animal in my care like family, and I understand the importance of routine, communication, and trust when it comes to your pets and your home. During housesits, I’m also very mindful of keeping your space clean and cared for—I always aim to leave things as tidy as I found them, if not better.
Reviews

Kayla was responsive and even left the house cleaner and better than we left it! Our pups were in good care!

I came back to a happy, stress free dog! Kayla is a gem and will absolutely be booking her in the future 🙂

Kayla stayed at my home and took such great care of my two senior dogs and the house. She kept me updated with regular messages and photos. On top of that, I came home to a house that was cleaner than I left it. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and will definitely be booking with her again.

Kayla is amazing! She took such excellent care of Apollo and left our house in immaculate shape after leaving. She was communicative, attentive, and professional. I highly recommend her! Thank you Kayla!
