Before I was even born, my parents owned a dog--a beagle, to be precise--and that's why it's fair to say that dogs have been a constant presence in my life since birth. Growing up around dogs made me appreciate the bonds that humans are capable of making with them, and how those bonds become sources of happiness, pride, and comfort. I once read online that dog owners who reside in Hawaii refer to themselves as their pet's "Kahu," which means "guardian, honored attendant, keeper, caretaker." I've never forgotten this because I think "Kahu" expertly speaks to how I view what it means to be a pet parent, and why I can be trusted to take care of your dog as I would my own. Over the years, I've cared for dogs of all ages, breeds, and sizes for friends and family members who have gone out of town for various periods of time. I'm happy to walk them, clean up messes, provide medication, and complete any and all tasks related to dog sitting (offering treats, refilling food and water bowls, turning off lights and locking the door behind me, etc.). In regards to dog walking, I took my dog, Cooper, on daily walks for 11 years. My sweet best friend passed away from cancer in December 2025. (This is your cue to give your dog a big hug and an extra treat. No matter how long we have them, it's never long enough.) I track all my walks using the wonderful Wooftrax app, which donates money to the Cambria County Humane Society; every walk results in a small donation, so if I'll be walking your dog, I'm happy to say that we will be out and about for a good cause! :) You can rest assured that your dog(s) will get the love and respect they deserve during their time with me. I've never met a dog I didn't like, and it would be a privilege to get to know you and yours!
