Pet care experience

Loving care for dogs of all sizes

I’ve had dogs my entire life and have over 15 years of hands-on pet care experience with a wide range of breeds and sizes, including Saint Bernards, English Mastiffs, Golden Retrievers, Doodles, Beagles, Poodles, Huskies, Bully breeds, and Chihuahuas. I’m comfortable with daily care routines such as feeding, walking, bathing, nail trimming, and administering medication when needed. I also care for cats. I focus on providing dependable, loving care in a home environment so pets feel safe, well cared for, and comfortable while their owners are away.

Kayla was absolutely amazing! From the meet and greet, to the very first time my baby was away from his family, to the pick up after the exciting first day! She welcomed him not only into her home, but into her family! I’m so incredibly grateful!!!

Wonderful sitter. My ol boy gave her the runaround… but she handled it like a champ.

Kayla took excellent care of Eddie. She introduced him to the pack and even got him accustomed to a cat, which doesn’t happen very often to him. We would rebook her without question again!

Schedule

I help manage my family-owned marina just down the street from my home. During the winter months (November–February), I’m home full-time, giving your pup lots of attention and care. From March through October, I typically bring dogs with me to the marina, where they can enjoy walks, fresh air, playtime, or relaxing in the office—depending on their personality. I’m only there for a few hours at a time, and I’m always happy to keep your dog at home if they’re more comfortable in a quieter, familiar environment.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide a safe, calm, and family-friendly home environment where pets are treated like part of the family. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, and any specific care instructions provided by the owner. Pets in my home receive plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, and supervision throughout the day.

Pets

A typical day

Your dog’s day is tailored to their routine and energy level. Active pups can enjoy multiple walks in our quiet neighborhood and playtime in our fully fenced yard, while dogs who prefer a slower pace can relax with plenty of rest, gentle play, and affection. I have two children in the home at times, ages 8 and 2, who have grown up around dogs and are taught to be gentle and respectful. Dogs who are comfortable in a family environment tend to do very well here. Because every dog has different comfort levels, especially around young children..I require a meet and greet before booking to ensure a safe, positive experience for everyone. I also provide photo updates throughout the day, so you can see how your pup is doing while you’re away. My goal is for your dog to feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Please let me know your dog’s routine, energy level, and any special needs ahead of time. I also ask about feeding schedules, medications, allergies, crate use, and how your dog does around children (ages 8 and 2). Any behaviors such as reactivity, anxiety, or escape tendencies are important to share so I can provide the safest, best care possible. A meet and greet is required prior to booking.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
