Pet care experience

Experience w/ all kinds of animals

I've been caring for dogs for roughly 20+ years. I started by caring for family dogs, one of which was elderly and needed special care. I often sat for my parents and other family when they would go on vacation. I worked at a vet clinic in town for 3 years where I cared for all sorts of dogs. Small, large, elderly, young, sick, and healthy. Friendly, shy, rambunctious, and even those who were not-so-friendly. I walked and fed those who boarded at the clinic. I played with them and also provided comfort to the dogs who were stressed or homesick. I am an animal lover who treats every dog as if they're my own and I love getting to know every dog's unique personality.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide care exclusively in my clients’ homes so pets can stay comfortable in their own environment and maintain their normal routines. This helps reduce stress and allows me to give them more personalized, attentive care. During overnight stays and drop-in visits, I follow each pet’s usual schedule as closely as possible, including feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide. I make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and supervision so they feel safe and cared for while you’re away. I also send regular updates and photos so you can feel confident and connected while you’re gone. My goal is for your pet to feel relaxed, loved, and completely at ease in my care—not just looked after, but genuinely cared for. I’m respectful of your home and keep things clean and tidy, treating your space with the same care I would my own.

My sweet elderly pup has many anxieties and special diet needs. I also don't trust just anyone to watch her. I met with Kayla and she eased my fears of leaving my girl in someone else's care. She checked in at the scheduled times and sent detailed updates and pics. I have found the trusted sitter I'd been searching for! Thank you, Kayla!

Schedule

Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. As a lifelong animal owner with 20+ years of experience, my days are already structured around feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, and giving animals the attention they need to feel comfortable and cared for. I build my weekly schedule to ensure I have the time and flexibility to provide consistent, reliable care for each pet I take on. Because I offer drop-ins, walks, and house sitting in clients’ homes, I’m able to plan my day around each pet’s specific needs—whether that’s regular potty breaks, exercise, or just companionship. Caring for animals isn’t something I fit in—it’s something I prioritize.

To help me care for your pet as thoughtfully as possible, I like to learn a bit about their routine and personality ahead of time: - Their feeding schedule, diet, and any allergies or sensitivities (including approved treats, if any) - Their usual daily routine, including potty breaks, exercise, and sleep habits - Their personality, including anything that may make them nervous, excited, or extra happy - Any unique habits or little quirks that make them them - Any medications or special care they may need - Your preferred veterinarian and emergency clinic - An emergency contact in case you’re unavailable - Any helpful home details (entry instructions, house rules, etc.) The more I know, the more I can keep your pet feeling comfortable, safe, and right at home while you’re away.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
