🐶 Walks, Whiskers & Wagging Tails
I’ve had animals in my life for as long as I can remember; dogs, cats, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, even squirrels! That lifelong experience, combined with my natural connection to animals, is what makes this more than just a job—it’s a true passion.

Kayla took good care of Jaxon in the first two days after we moved to Ottawa and when Jaxon was adjusting to the new environment. I can tell Jaxon loves Kayla as he ran towards her home after his first visit. It’s reassuring that he felt safe and happy with Kayla.

Kayla was wonderful! This was our first time booking with her, and she was great with our dog Winston. I really appreciated that we got to do a meet and greet beforehand. She kept us updated and sent photos, which was really reassuring. We’ll definitely be booking with her again! :)

Kayla took great care of our Corgi and Cockapoo. We were so grateful she enabled us to enjoy a day in Ottawa. We would definitely book with Kayla again

I had such a great experience with Kayla! It was my first time using Rover and leaving my two pets in the care of someone outside my circle of friends/family. One of my cats also has medical needs that we are still getting used to. I had peace of mind leaving them with Kayla after a great meet and greet. Kayla is communicative, responsive, and took great care of my shy pets during drop in visits. The place was left immaculate as well. Definitely recommend and will request her services again. Thanks again!

Excellent care and very reliable.

I was on a trip to Ottawa with my English Bulldog Sassy. We needed a sitter 2 times during my stay and Kayla was wonderful with Sassy! She was patient knowing Sassy was on a trip and not doing things that follow her normal routine so she made Sassy feel safe and at home when watching her. She also updated me so I knew Sassy was ok. I would recommend Kayla if you need a puppy sitter! She is Sassy approved 🐶

Schedule
I work with pets of all sizes, ages, and temperaments; including seniors, reactive dogs, and animals with special medical or behavioral needs. I have hands-on experience caring for pets post-surgery, and I'm comfortable with medical routines like:

💉 Insulin injections 💧 Subcutaneous fluids 💊 Oral, topical, and other medications

A typical day
Every day is tailored to your pet’s personality, energy level, and routine; whether they’re staying with me or I’m caring for them in their own home. In my home, mornings usually start with some fresh air in the fully fenced yard followed by a walk around the neighborhood or nearby parks; walks are usually 45 minutes or more unless you request otherwise. I’ve got a variety of toys (even for tough chewers), comfy spots to nap, and plenty of time for cuddles and play. Pets can hang out on the furniture or sleep wherever they're comfortable (unless you have specific rules you'd like me to follow). Cats have full range of the home and will have access to large, clean litter boxes. You're welcome to provide your own supplies, or I can use mine. In your home, I aim to keep things as close to your pet’s usual routine as possible. I’ll stick to their feeding schedule, walk them along their familiar routes, and follow any house rules you have in place. I treat your home with the same care and respect I do my own and always make sure it's left clean and tidy. I do not allow off-leash walks, even for well-behaved dogs, for safety and liability reasons. No matter where your pet is, they’ll get the same love, attention, and personalized care they’re used to with an extra dose of fun and companionship while you’re away!

- To provide the best care possible, I ask that you share as much detail as you can about your pet before booking. The more I know, the better I can meet their needs and ensure they feel comfortable and safe in my care. Please let me know: Does your pet have any behavioral issues, reactivity, or triggers I should be aware of (e.g., fear of loud noises, resource guarding, leash reactivity)? Are they special needs or require mobility support, assistance, or extra supervision? Do they take medications, including insulin, sub-q fluids, or supplements? If so, please include instructions and timing. Are they fully vaccinated and on flea/tick prevention? Do they have any allergies or sensitivities (food, treats, cleaning products, etc.)? Do they get along with other dogs, cats, or people? Are they crate trained, or do they have specific sleeping arrangements? How are they with being left alone? Do they experience separation anxiety? Do they have any quirks, routines, or comforts I should know about (e.g., preferred walking route, favorite toy, bedtime ritual)? Have they recently been ill or injured? This information helps me tailor their care and keep them happy, healthy, and stress-free while you’re away. If there’s anything else not listed here that’s important to your pet’s care, big or small, please don’t hesitate to share!
