I have two 6-year old rambunctious sibling/littermate-bonded kits who test me daily with their wild antics. They get into tons of trouble and def keep me on my toes. Bean and Mapo have figured out how to open doors and cabinets together! One uses their head/paws to open the door and other uses their body to push it open. I’ve had to childlock all cabinets because of them! I absolutely love getting to know each individual kit and will do whatever their tiny heart desires. If they want to chill/hang out, we’ll do just that; if they’re super playful and full of energy, I’ll help them get their zoomies out! Regardless of whatever energy they exude with me, I’ll make sure to match it! FYI - if a kit is super playful, be sure to expect tons of (usually candid) pics! One of my kits (Mapo) is fully toothless and endured a lot of pain and hand feeding before his surgery. Currently, he’s taking liquid medication 1x/day. I can easily administer liquids, pills and inhalers gently, but firmly and with plenty of treats and scritches, of course! :) Whenever I meet a new baby, I make sure they feel safe around me by explaining who I am, why I’m there and what I would be doing. I always make sure to give your baby the space and time to get used to a new person because a random person who knows your name/is in your home is definitely scary!!! If a kit isn’t the friendliest/is shy, I’ll make sure to help them feel safe by moving quietly/gently and to allow them to come up to me, if they want. I never test boundaries with kits and will usually stay in the room or near the door frame reading to them or speaking aloud to them in a calm voice.
