I have two 6-year old rambunctious sibling/littermate-bonded kits who test me daily with their wild antics. They get into tons of trouble and def keep me on my toes. Bean and Mapo have figured out how to open doors and cabinets together! One uses their head/paws to open the door and other uses their body to push it open. I’ve had to childlock all cabinets because of them! I absolutely love getting to know each individual kit and will do whatever their tiny heart desires. If they want to chill/hang out, we’ll do just that; if they’re super playful and full of energy, I’ll help them get their zoomies out! Regardless of whatever energy they exude with me, I’ll make sure to match it! FYI - if a kit is super playful, be sure to expect tons of (usually candid) pics! One of my kits (Mapo) is fully toothless and endured a lot of pain and hand feeding before his surgery. Currently, he’s taking liquid medication 1x/day. I can easily administer liquids, pills and inhalers gently, but firmly and with plenty of treats and scritches, of course! :) Whenever I meet a new baby, I make sure they feel safe around me by explaining who I am, why I’m there and what I would be doing. I always make sure to give your baby the space and time to get used to a new person because a random person who knows your name/is in your home is definitely scary!!! If a kit isn’t the friendliest/is shy, I’ll make sure to help them feel safe by moving quietly/gently and to allow them to come up to me, if they want. I never test boundaries with kits and will usually stay in the room or near the door frame reading to them or speaking aloud to them in a calm voice.

I treat each and every animal I encounter with kindness and respect. If your little one is wary of me, I’ll earn their trust by respecting their space and by slowly introducing myself and by buttering them up with any treats! By the time you’re back, your baby and I will be the best of friends. As well, please let me know if there are any spots your little one likes to hide in and their temperament. I want to be respectful of their space. Your baby is my baby!

I can't say enough about how wonderful Kayla is! I'm a new member of the Edgewater community and was reluctant to look for a new petsitter. I'd never used Rover before. My partner and I felt nervous about leaving our cats alone so soon after our move. We had no reason to be worried! We've never come home from a trip to find our kitties so content and anxiety-free before. It was clear they had been well-loved and doted on while we were away. Kayla treats your pets as if they were her own, and showers them with affection and support no matter how long or short her visit is. Kayla took such good care of our fur babies! She gave both of them lots of play time, treats, and even sent plenty amazing snapshots while we were on vacation. Our eldest kitty needed a topical medication, and Kayla set up a routine for her so she’d be comfy with getting her medication each day. Kayla really cares, and it shows. ☺️

Schedule
I work remotely, have flexible hours, and can hang out with your little one all day or whatever your needs are! If you would like me to stay with them during the work week for a few extra hours after the hang, I would need access to your Wi-Fi.

- I would love to know any major dislikes/triggers or positives/loves your baby has. I want to be as respectful to the little one as I can.
