*** We are moving to Montbello on 9/1! Currently only accepting bookings in Lakewood until AUGUST 10th. *** Hey I’m Makayla! I live in Lakewood with my partner, Kory, and would love to meet your pet! I have no pets in my home right now. I worked with Rover some years ago in my home state of Massachusetts. I really enjoyed it then and have been looking forward to when I had some spare time to do it again. I am working part time now and Kory works full time from home which provides flexibility. I have been surrounded by pets since I was a child and I have helped to care for friends and family’s pets for several years. I can walk, feed, care for, host and visit both dogs and cats with various sets of needs. I have experience with puppies and kittens as well as elderly or special needs pets.

Kayla is awesome!! She's responsive, flexible, dependable, and I felt totally at ease knowing she was watching our three furry babies. 🐾 She gave daily updates with photos, which was great. Our little ones came home looking happy and we would definitely use her services again! 😊
Kayla was awesome. Very communicative, provided regular updates, and made our pup feel right at home. Our travel plans also changed last minute, and Kayla was extremely helpful and accommodating. 100% recommend!
Kayla was amazing! She was so nice and sweet with my dog Helsinki and very communicative. She asked about all Helsinki’s details and needs to give him the best care. She took him for multiple long walks and even got some great pictures of him. She clearly makes it very comfortable as Helsinki even ate almost all of his food, which he never does in a new setting with his anxiety. I’d highly recommend her!
Kayla is such an amazing sitter ! Words cannot describe how happy Coco was through the updates and photos Kayla sent to us. It’s clear that Kayla genuinely cares for our Coco. Kayla was, in a word, AWESOME. We reached on very short notice because we couldn’t get into a boarding facility & she was available & willing to take our fur babies for the weekend. This was my first time EVER boarding my cats & I have had cats all my life, so I was pretty anxious about it. She gave us updates & sent pics & I could tell my fur babies were doing alright. Being able to “board” them with her was so much better than being in a facility. Thank you, Kayla. If we have to do this again, you will be our first choice every time!!!
Kayla did a wonderful job with our dog and was accommodating for our unique situation. We will book with her again!

Schedule
I am a social worker by trade but currently only working part time and my partner, Kory, works full time from home. I am pretty flexible with my schedule right now and would love to work with you to find a routine that works for everyone.

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a two bedroom apartment with no other pets. I have plenty of space to bring your pet's favorite scratching posts, beds, toys, etc. My complex has an on site dog park, lots of open green space and it borders a park with a ton of walking trails. I’m comfortable using crates for dogs and helping with many types of special needs for both cats and dogs.
A typical day
Depending on your pets likes, dislikes and comfort level, the activities that I like to do vary. For dogs: I love to take walks around the neighborhood and on paths. If your dog is friendly with other dogs, is trained and has experience at the dog park, I enjoy playing fetch at the park. For cats: Depending on your cats personality, I can be playful cozy or cautious during our time together. I love to play or have a conversation of meows but can also just be a slow and steady presence.
