Availability

I like to ensure your pup is okay being left home alone as I am a teacher and work during school hours. If your dog is a chewer or gets into things, I do require that they are crate trained. I can provide a crate for dogs under 35lbs but if your dog is larger, I require you to provide one. But, don’t worry! Your pup will be allowed to have free reign of the house while I am home. Having a dog myself, I would provide walks & potty breaks on the same schedule as my personal pups

A typical day

Have a you ever heard of a frozen, food-filled Kong toy? Dogs store energy in their bodies but, did you know dogs also store energy in their heads/jaws? A frozen Kong toy is an amazing way to expel your dogs head energy. It provides a stimulating little game that dogs LOVE. I put wet dog food in a Kong chew toy & freeze it. It can provide up to 45 minutes of stimulation which is key to burning out that excess energy. I have various sizes of these & keep them in my freezer.

Pet care experience

I've always had a way with animals. I grew up around large dogs as a child and spent most of my adult life around smaller pups. I also have a 6 year old doodle named Lucy & a 4 year old doodle named Chloe.

Kayla took excellent care of our 3 year old lab retriever. We will board him with Kayla again.

Kayla welcomed our dog Bailey into her home and was very responsive, keeping us up to date on how she was doing while we were away on vacation. We couldn’t have been more lucky to have her watch our pup and kept our minds at easy that she was being well taken care of. I would highly recommend her to all of our friends.

Kayla was so good with our black lab! She was especially patient and creative when Gus refused to take his pills. If we vacation in this area again- we will definitely call Kayla!!
