Safety, trust & environment

The safety of your pet and myself during walks and visits is very important to me. I find that pets wearing a harness for walks is much more secure than attaching the leash to a collar. This way its not as easy for pets to slip away if startled or if they become reactive to something on our walk. If your pet is not friendly with other dogs i'm very intentional about keeping distance and staying aware during walks to ensure everyone's safety. I will never transport your pet anywhere we will always be in the general vicinity of your property, neighborhood and home. I would also provide pictures and a written update of how our visit went! I'm also really big on meet and greets before any initial walks or visits with your pet! This way your pet has a chance to become familiar with me in their home and space and can see me with their owner!

Information Kayci S. would like to know about your pet

Does your pet have any aggression with other animals, leash aggression or reactivity? Does your pet have food allergies or ingredients that they need to stay away from if they are given a treat or food? Is your pet sensitive to loud noises or certain smells? Does your pet take any medications with potential side affects that i would need to be aware of? Does your pet have any health conditions or concerns that i need to be aware of?

A typical day

A typical walk with your pet would look like finding a route that provides adequate exercise and mental stimulation! One that has good spots for sniffs or to roll around in the grass if that's their thing! Back at your home we could play tug with a favorite toy or even catch and maybe do some tricks for treats! If your pet enjoys their fenced in yard to a walk, then we would spend some time outside in their space playing with a favorite toy, playing chase or working on commands. Before i go, i'll always make sure your pet has fresh water and will respect any meal time schedules.

Pet care experience

** On maternity leave until next year!** Personally, i have cared for and owned pets since i was a kid and am very familiar and knowledgeable of many breeds! I have 3+ years of professional dog walking and pet visit experience as i used to work for a small, locally owned company based in Richmond! I loved my time with them and was with them until my husband and i decided to start traveling full time with our own fur babies. I have two dogs, Moxie and Winnie. Moxie is a standard poodle and Winnie is a mini poodle. Throughout my life, my family has had many different breeds of dogs. I love them all and do well with learning the different personalities and behaviors that they can have. I would love the opportunity to care for and provide some much needed enrichment and mental stimulation to your family pets during their day whether its a walk or a quick in home visit! I also trained both my dogs with some basic commands that include sit, stay, wait, paw, high five and down and i'd be happy to help with training during our visits as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my bio!

Always fantastic care of our fur baby Rosie. Great communication as always and Kayci is so flexible too usually. We are so thankful we found Kayci to spend time with our pup when we travel for work and fun.

We love Kayci she’s just the best. Always cares for our Pup Rosie so well and really seems to understand and love animals. Something else I love about Kayci is she almost never fails to mention that she saw the other pets in our home too- she’s not even there to check on the cats but it is so sweet and gives me a little extra peace of mind to know she had eyes on and gave a few pets to my other fur babies.

Kayci is amazing with our boy. He’s 125 pounds and she handles him with no issues. She’s communicative, reliable, and patient. We are using her on a regular basis!
