Availability
I am most available in the morning (before 9) and evening (after 3 pm), but with the flexibility of freelancing, I often have time midday as well. For housesitting requests, I can give your dog a consistent presence most of the day and adapt my schedule accordingly.

Safety, trust & environment
I don’t offer pet care from my home, but when you book me as a dog sitter in your home, you can trust that I’ll care for both the space and your pet as if they were my own. I can take care of brushing, playtime, feeding and walking as well as general companionship for your pet throughout most of the day.
Information Kaya W. would like to know about your pet
Before I walk your dog, here are a few things I’d like to know: -What are your dog’s favorite places to visit? -Would they rather play in the park or explore a new route? -Do they have any favorite toys? -Any issues with anxiety or aggression (especially among other dogs and kids)? I want to make sure your dog has a completely fun and stress-free environment. -How fit is your dog? Will they run non-stop for hours, or need to take breaks? Will they push the pace or take it easy? -How to they behave on and off leash? How is their recall? -Is there any medical information I should know (allergies, injuries, etc.)?
A typical day
It always depends on the dog! For a social pup, we’ll hit one of the nearby dog parks — like Wagner Park in Aspen or Crown Mountain Park in El Jebel — to make sure there’s plenty of playtime. Dogs who want to cover some miles can join me on one of the many beautiful trails in our valley for a 3-4 mile run or cross-country ski )or longer with a time extension). For dogs who are ready to slow down, we’ll take an easy stroll on a local “town trail” or around the block, stopping to sniff along the way. And for dogs who want to fetch, I’ll bring along a frisbee or tennis ball for plenty of back and forth fun.

Pet care experience
I’m an active local journalist with more than a decade of dog care experience. In the past, I’ve cared for tiny terriers and 100-pound doodles, itty bitty puppies and large older dogs — no matter the size or personality, I’m ready to give your pet full attention! I’m also an avid runner and cross-country skier. If you have a dog that is eager to run around, I’m the dog walker for you! If your dog is more of the stop-and-smell-the-roses variety, I am always happy to take them on slower and more leisurely walks, with time to play and explore. If you’d like to send Fido on a longer excursion, I am happy to offer time additions to ensure that your pet gets full attention and a thorough walk or run!
