Pet care is most naturally woven into our lives on weekends, which is when we offer boarding. From Friday evening through Sunday, we have no outside commitments — the dogs have our full, unhurried attention for the entire stay. We're home, we're present, and there's no clock to watch. Someone is always home, and your pup will never be left alone.

Safety, trust & environment
From the moment a dog arrives, safety and comfort are the only priorities. The house is calm, free of hazards, and has been a pet home for over 25 years. Outside time is always supervised. Dogs are never crated or left alone for significant stretches. On weekends, when we do most of our boarding, we are home and fully present the entire stay. We have 25 years of hands-on experience managing medications, mobility support, special diets, and palliative care. If your dog has specific needs or a detailed routine, we want to know everything — and we will follow it precisely. You will receive photo and message updates throughout the day so you always know your dog is happy, comfortable, and loved.

Information Kay & Daniel B. would like to know about your pet
The more we know, the better we can care for your dog — so we love a detailed handoff. Before any stay, we'll want to know: Routine — What time do they usually wake up, eat, and go to bed? Do they have a nap routine? Consistency matters to dogs, and we'll mirror your schedule as closely as possible. Food and medications — What do they eat, how much, and when? If they take any medications or supplements, we want the full details — dosage, timing, how they prefer to take it (hidden in a treat, mixed in food, etc.). We have extensive experience administering medications and managing special diets. Mobility and physical needs — Do they have any joint issues, injuries, or limitations we should know about? Are there activities to avoid? We have ramps and stairs throughout the home, but we want to know what works best for your dog specifically. Behavior and quirks — Are they anxious around anything? Do they resource guard? Any history of reactivity? Are there sounds, situations, or handling preferences we should know about? There are no wrong answers — we just want to be prepared. Comfort items — We encourage you to bring their bed, a favorite toy, or a worn piece of your clothing. Familiar scents make a real difference, especially the first night. Emergency contacts and vet information — We'll always ask for your vet's name and number, and a backup contact in case you're unreachable. If your dog is in palliative care or managing a serious condition, please share everything — care notes, vet instructions, even your worries. We've been in that place with our own pets, and we take it seriously.
A typical day
No two dogs are exactly alike, so we always take our cues from yours — but a typical day looks something like this. Mornings start gently — a trip outside to the yard, some sniffing around, and a chance to wake up at their own pace. We love starting with a snuffle mat session, which is wonderful for mental stimulation and works beautifully for dogs of any age or energy level. For the more playful crowd, a game of ball in the yard usually follows. Midday often brings a walk through the historic Bemis Park area — one of Omaha's most beautiful neighborhoods, with mature trees, interesting terrain, and no shortage of things to sniff. For small dogs, it's an ideal outing — rich in stimulation, never overwhelming. For dogs who'd rather ride than walk, or who have mobility limitations, we also have a pet stroller so no one misses out on the fresh air and scenery. We always carry pepper spray on walks as a precaution against loose dogs — your dog's safety on the street matters just as much as their safety in our yard. We might follow this up with quiet downtime — a nap on the sofa, a chew toy, some more yard time, or just some companionable time together at home. We're not rushing anywhere. Senior dogs and those with mobility challenges are very welcome here — we adjust the pace and activities entirely to what feels right for them. A tired, happy, comfortable dog is our goal, not a packed itinerary

25 years of love, now loving yours
Pet care experience
Over 25 years, our home was filled with five dogs and two cats — each one deeply loved, right to the very end. After recently saying goodbye to the last of them, we found ourselves with a quiet house, a big fenced yard, and a lot of love left to give. We are not new to pets — we are new to Rover. We've navigated puppyhood, senior care, medications, mobility challenges, and everything in between. If your dog has special needs, we don't just accommodate that — we genuinely thrive in that role. A few things that matter to us (and we think will matter to you): • Small dogs only — we believe your small dog deserves to be with other small dogs, not overwhelmed by larger ones. • Chemical-free lawn — our yard is completely free of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. • Fully fenced, secure yard — safe off-leash play, always supervised. • Dog-proofed home — no hazards, no strangers, just calm and comfort. Our home is set up for small dogs to feel completely at home — ramps and stairs to the sofa and bed so no one has to jump, cozy dog beds throughout, and a collection of safe toys to keep things fun. If your dog is used to sleeping on the furniture, they're welcome to here too. We have deep, firsthand experience with palliative and end-of-life care. Over the years we walked alongside several of our own pets through their final chapters — managing pain medications, mobility support, appetite challenges, and the emotional weight that comes with it. If your dog is in their senior years or facing a serious diagnosis, you don't need to worry about finding someone who "can handle it." We've lived it. We will love and care for your dog with the same tenderness and attention we gave our own, every single day. Your dog will sleep in our home, never in a crate or kennel, and will be treated exactly as we treated our own — because that's the only way we know how to do it.
Reviews

We had the most pleasant experience! This was our first time ever using Rover, and they made it such a positive one. They kept us updated throughout the day with pictures and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious that our dogs were receiving lots of love and attention! We honestly felt like they were being spoiled the entire time! They truly went above and beyond for our pups and treated them as if they were their own. Their care, communication, and kindness made all the difference, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend them and would absolutely trust them with our dogs again. ❤️🐾
Kay is a highly compassionate and intelligent person who loves and adores animals. From fostering dogs in Taiwan during her ESL teaching time there to rehoming mice found in her home...her heart can be no bigger. She also handles cats with love and care, even the ones who talk nonstop. You are a lucky pet owner if she helps you with pet care. Jennifer
Kay is a highly reliable and responsible dog sitter; my dog loves hanging out with her. Kay has taken the time to prepare her house with toys and cushy beds. Lulu says she's extra great with treats! She allows time for sniffing on walks, too!
Kay loves animals, especially dogs. She will treat yours like "family" giving the utmost care whether they are young, seniors or need special care. You will have peace of mind knowing your fur baby is well cared for while you are away. She was wonderful with mine when I was on vacation. She's the best!
