Pet care fits into my routine because it’s the foundation I build the rest of my work around. I work remotely as a creative strategist for the Mayor’s Office, which gives me the flexibility to structure my day according to your dogs schedule. They will get tons of personalized attention and walks! Instead of squeezing dog care between calls, I design my schedule so that each dog’s walk or visit is a dedicated, unrushed block of time. Their routines become the architecture of my day, and my remote work slots in naturally around that structure. That balance allows me to offer a level of consistency, presence, and reliability that my clients appreciate. Pet care isn’t something I “fit in.” It’s a priority I plan around, just like I do with any of my professional commitments.

In Your Home: When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I move through the space like a calm, respectful house guest who genuinely loves being part of your dog’s world. I stick to your routines exactly — feeding times, walk rituals, training cues, preferred boundaries, and any quirky little comfort habits your dog relies on. The goal is for your home to feel exactly the same as when you left it and for your dog to feel like nothing in their universe has shifted. In My Home: My home is basically a cozy dog-friendly sanctuary — part boho bungalow, part “Walter’s Doggy slumber party.” I have: • More poof beds than a reasonable person should own • Toys, tennis balls, and treat puzzles galore • Enrichment toys for dogs who need mental engagement • Couches and chairs open for Netflix & chill (full permission to snuggle) • Windows and patios for bird-watching • A mellow, grounded vibe • Dog TV (yes, I subscribe to the dog tv channel and Walter likes Mozart music and watching squirrels out the window or on YouTube 😂 Your dog is absolutely allowed on furniture — my place is very “lay wherever you want and get comfy.” I’m also walking distance from: • A giant meadow where dogs can safely get their zoomies out • Tennis courts for ball-chasing sessions And 5 minutes from: • Whitnall Dog Park • Wildwood Canyon hikes And 15 minutes from: • Griffith Park — where, if you feel comfortable with it, we can explore the abandoned zoo, Bee Rock Trail, or take a mellow scenic loop If we drive, I have doggy seatbelts installed so your pup is safe and secure My space is warm, creative, and intentionally dog-friendly, perfect for pups who enjoy being close, cozy, and part of the home’s energy. They get structure, affection, enrichment, and a peaceful environment that feels like a little Burbank retreat. Oh , and if I leave to run an errand I leave Paw Patrol or Mozart on for them. I think of everything. Literally!

Information Katy Y. would like to know about your pet
Before I care for your dog, I like to understand the full picture of who they are — not just their routine, but their personality, preferences, quirks, and emotional world. The more I know, the better I can support them. Here’s what helps me give your pup the best, safest, most personalized care: 🐾 1. Behavior + Quirks (The real stuff) • Reactivity (dogs, people, bikes, scooters, delivery drivers) • Triggers or fears (skateboards, loud noises, being approached too fast) • Whether they’re shy, bold, anxious, opinionated, or somewhere in between • How they greet strangers • What calms them down vs. what winds them up These things help me read their body language and set them up for success. 🍖 2. Food, Treats, and Tummy Rules • Allergies • Feeding schedule • Treat preferences • Any sensitive stomach issues • What’s a “hard no” (Important for adventures, enrichment time, and puzzle toys.) 🐕🦺 3. Training Cues + House Rules • Words or commands you’re reinforcing • Your boundaries (on furniture? off furniture? crate time?) • Whether they pull, need structure, or walk better with specific equipment • How you correct or redirect behavior Consistency = comfort. 🧠 4. Anxiety, Past Experiences, and Comfort Items • Separation anxiety • Resource guarding • Noise sensitivity • History with rescues or past trauma • Their comfort object, blanket, routine, or “safety signals” (As a dog mom to my 11-year-old rescue Walter, I know how much these details matter.) 🩺 5. Medical + Physical Needs • Medications • Mobility issues • Limits on exercise or stairs • Any “red flags” I should watch for I want to keep them safe and supported. 🎾 6. Activity Level + Play Style • Big adventure dog or gentle stroller? • Fetch fanatic or sniff-walk philosopher? • Zoomies in open fields or cozy couch potato? • Social butterfly or selective with dog friends? This helps me curate the right mix of fun + regulation. 🏡 7. Home Routines + Logistics (if I’m sitting) • Your typical daily schedule • Crate habits • Door / gate rules • Camera, alarm, or key preferences • Anything that keeps your home running smoothly I treat your home with the same respect I’d want for mine. ❤️ 8. Anything That Makes Them Feel Safe, Loved, or “Seen” Every dog has unspoken preferences — the soft spot behind the ear, the bedtime ritual, the weird snack they adore, the nervous tick they get before a zoomie explosion. Tell me all of it. Those little things make a big difference. 🐾✨ The more I know, the better I can make your dog feel seen, safe, and genuinely happy.

Here’s what your pup can look forward to: 🌿 1. Sniff-Safaris + Scenic Walks I don’t rush dogs — I let them sniff and explore, because that’s their version of checking email and reading the news. • Neighborhood nature walks • Grass-sniff sessions in the giant meadow • Tennis court laps for ball-chasers • Mindful strolls for seniors in Cabrini Villas, a safe and secure townhome community 🎾 2. Play Sessions That Match Their Energy Whether your dog is a pro athlete or a couch potato, they get fun tailored to them: • Fully committed tennis ball games • Fetch, chase, tug-of-war • Gentle play for seniors • Zoomie encouragement in safe, open spaces I have many toys, tennis balls, chews, and treat puzzles — enough to run a small preschool. 🧠 3. Brain Enrichment (a tired brain = a happy dog) I keep their mind engaged with: • Treat puzzles • licky mats • “Find the snack” treasure hunts Busy bones kong toys Great for anxious or reactive pups who need calm stimulation. 🛋️ 4. Cozy Netflix & Snuggle Time If your dog’s love language is cuddling, great — mine is too. They’re welcome on the couch, the poof beds (I have too many), under a blanket, or curled up next to me while I work remotely. We watch TV, decompress, and bond 😌 6. Socialized Calm Time For sensitive or anxious pups, we do: • Soft grounding walks • soothing music • Gentle routines • Quiet sunbathing • lots of walks Your dog’s nervous system is in good hands. 👩🍳 7. Healthy Treat Time (with your approval) Frozen Kongs, lick mats, treat puzzles, or just a simple crunchy snack — all depending on your preferences. I even make chicken broth popsicles ! 📝 8. Personality-Tailored Fun Every dog gets their own “playlist” of joy. For example: • The Velcro dogs get lots of affection and constant companionship • The independent thinkers get space, autonomy, and enrichment • The goofy extroverts get adventure and play • The seniors get slow, cozy routines and soft beds • The anxious pups get safety, structure, and predictable rhythms ⭐ Why Dogs Love Me • I match their energy without feeding their stress • I give them structure + fun, not chaos • I let them be fully themselves • I make their day both exciting and comforting • I treat them like my own 🐾 ✨ Your dog will have fun, feel safe, and come home happy — every single time.

Pet care experience
Hi! I’m Katy — dog mom to Walter, professional dog walker, house sitter, creative human, and someone who is passionate about dogs, instinctual with animals, and who brings fun, nurturing, and zen energy to your home and pup. I’ve spent 20+ years caring for dogs of every possible vibe: shy rescues, anxious introverts, confident extroverts, senior sages, chaos agents, soulful wallflowers, and everything in between. If your dog is quirky, reactive, spicy, sensitive, or just a lovable weirdo…. perfect. They’re my specialty. I bring a blend of fun-loving creative energy and extreme reliability that can be rare to find in LA. I’m calm, I’m consistent, and I totally understand that dogs aren’t “just dogs” — they’re family, coworkers, emotional support systems, and each has their own unique personality, vibe, quirks, and needs. 🐕🦺✨ Meet Walter — My Terrier and CEO My dog Walter is 11, adopted from Bark & Bitches in Weho back in 2015, and is the absolute love of my life. Earning his trust when he was 1 and came from a shelter taught me everything about patience, leadership, communication, and unconditional love. 🌿🐶 My Dog-Walking Style Here’s what your dog gets with me: • Structured dog walks for consistency & confidence • Mindful sniff-safaris for seniors and sensory-driven pups • High-energy exercise or hikes (your call) for athletic dogs • Reactive dog–friendly handling (my specialty) • Anxiety-sensitive care for nervous pups • Training reinforcement • Park outings, nature walks & enrichment • Photo updates where your dog looks like the lead in an A24 film Whether your dog needs a calm guide, a structured routine, or just someone makes them feel safe and loved while you’re away, I’m your person. 🏡🌱 House Sitting — Responsible, Chill, and Plant-Friendly I’m the house sitter who: • Leaves things clean and peaceful • Treats your home with respect • Handles alarms like a pro • Keeps plants alive • Manages packages + mail • Works remotely on my laptop while your dog naps nearby and balances my freelance work with plenty of playtime and exercise/sunshine • Sends real updates, not vague “all good!” texts Dogs trust me quickly because I bring: steady energy, gentle leadership, warmth, humor, and consistency. Shy dogs open up. Anxious dogs regulate. Reactive dogs feel safe. Goofy dogs become even goofier. Senior dogs feel respected. Everyone wins. 📋 Before We Start Our Friendship I’ll ask about: • quirks + triggers • reactivity • treat rules & allergies • walk/feeding routines • training cues • comfort items • their favorite toys and habits A smooth, consistent routine is the goal — for both you and your pup. 💛 Fun Energy. Professional Care. Happy Dogs. Zero Stress. If you want a dog walker or house sitter who’s: ✔️ Responsible and communicative ✔️ Great with anxious or reactive dogs ✔️ Funny and chill ✔️ grounded and trustworthy ✔️ Reliable for frequent travelers ✔️ loves dogs with personality …I’d love to meet you and your pup. Your dog gets love, structure, enrichment, and good energy. You get peace of mind, detailed updates, and a human you can count on. Lets meet!
Reviews

I had several meet and greets with Rover’s close to my home, I have hired privately and on Rover once before. If you want the dream Auntie for your fur baby, Katy is the one. Not only is she highly experienced, she is affectionate and kind. Buddy reads ppl quickly- he kissed her face at our meet and greet. No doubt, he knew. Bud had several walks per day, hikes, a beach trip, dog park and slept at the foot of their bed. She sent videos and pics, texts everyday. He was truly happy and confident when we picked him up and I never once worried as we were gone for 10 days. Peace of mind is everything - that’s the gift you receive from Katy.

Katy was amazing with our senior maltipoo, Coco. Katy sent daily text and photo/video updates and Coco seemed to be loving her time there. She got very close to Katy's dog Walter and they hung out all day together. Katy was super responsive, flexible and caring and we feel lucky to have found her. We know Coco would love to go back to hang out with them soon.

It was our senior dog, Coco's first ever boarding and Katy did an amazing job making her feel at home. Katy was open to a meet and greet before to introduce us to her dog Walter to see if the dogs would get along and to get Coco introduced before she spent the night. Everything went much better than we could have hoped for and we are already booking Coco's next stay. We received a bunch of photos and videos which showed a happy Coco enjoying her time.

Katy was awesome with peanut and was understanding with so many issues on my side where I didn’t book the right times on rover. She sent over a lot of updates. I’m sure peanut is excited to see her again for our next booking 😃
