Looking after your pets in Hove
🏡 A cosy, pet-friendly home I live in a lovely, spacious two-bedroom flat with a particularly large living room, so there’s plenty of room for your pet to relax and make themselves at home. I only host one pet at a time, whether that’s a cat or a dog, so your pet will have my full attention and won’t be sharing the space with unfamiliar animals. I don’t currently have any pets of my own either, making my home especially suitable for animals who prefer a quieter environment or simply like having their own space. I have a cosy dog bed that is washed after every guest, as well as comfy cat beds and toys. Pets are very welcome on the sofa and bed too, unless you’d prefer me to maintain the same boundaries you have at home — I’m always happy to follow your usual routine.

My puppy Nala stayed with Katrina for the day and has come back tired and happy. She's had a great time. Katrina is super quick to respond and would definitely trust her again to look after my puppy!

Schedule
I work remotely from home and have a very flexible daily schedule, so I’m able to fit your pet’s routine around what they’re already used to — whether that means particular walking times, regular toilet breaks, feeding schedules, medication, playtime or simply plenty of company and attention throughout the day. When I’m working from home, I’m at home with your pet throughout the day, so they won’t be left alone for long periods. I also only host one pet at a time, so I can give them my full attention and make sure they feel safe, relaxed and comfortable in my home. I usually go into the office two days per week, but I choose those days myself and they’re very flexible. This means I can arrange my office days around bookings, particularly for longer stays, and I’m very happy to work around your pet’s individual routine and needs.

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet’s safety and comfort are my priority. I only host one pet at a time and always follow your usual routines, house rules, feeding instructions and any medication requirements. In my home, windows are kept securely closed, I’m careful when opening doors, and anything potentially unsafe is kept out of reach. On walks, I’ll follow your instructions regarding leads, other dogs and suitable walking areas. I’m also very happy to send regular photos and updates — whether you’d like a quick daily check-in or lots of updates throughout the day, just let me know what you prefer! 🐾📸
A typical day
For cats, I have plenty of toys and enrichment activities and I’m always very keen for playtime, cuddles and belly rubs (if they’re welcomed! 😄). I’ll always take the lead from your pet — if they want lots of attention and interaction, they’ll get it, but if they prefer to relax and have their own space, that’s absolutely fine too. For dogs, I’m equally happy to provide lots of attention, playtime and cuddles throughout the day. I’m also very happy to continue any training you’re currently working on, so their routine and boundaries stay consistent while they’re with me. I live very close to Hove Lawns, the seafront and the King Alfred dog-walking area, so there are plenty of opportunities for lovely walks along the beach. I’m happy to go on longer walks with energetic dogs or keep things shorter and gentler for dogs who prefer a slower pace. Most importantly, I’ll adapt the day to your pet’s personality, routine and energy levels so they feel happy, comfortable and at home. 🐾
