A typical day

We are lucky to live in a small quiet cul-de-sac away from main roads and have a fully enclosed garden which is mainly lawn so great for games and fun agility plus a paddling pool for summer. Bourne Park is just 10 minutes walk away from the house via the 'dusty lane' - a footpath track so everyone can check out the neighbourhood smells before and after a good run around (happy to use extension leads as necessary). Further by car - 10 mins drive - we have lots of woodland for walks in addition to the sandy shoreline of the tidal river Orwell offering plenty of paddling opportunities. There is also a variety of dog paddocks within a short drive so we usually book a selection of these each week. Vehicles are fitted with crates, seat covers and harness restraints. We also use Apple Tracker collars.

Pet care experience

I grew up on a small holding and therefore had responsibilities to look after, feed and care for animals from a young age. This also influenced me to become pescatarian and eat only a fish and vegetarian diet supplemented with cake, chocolate, wine, and gin...! Our dogs, however, love sausages and are well known in our local chippie for carrying home their own individually wrapped battered sausages for a treat every now and then. Danny has had domestic pets all his life with a mix of dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and fish. He loves fish - great big fish and is an avid big game fisherman travelling around the world in his white man van. Together we have a nice family home and great garden which we love to fill with dogs of all shapes and sizes. We have had a mix of both large and small breeds from puppies to rescue projects and enjoy training and behaviour classes to make sure all our furry friends are good citizens. I completed a dog grooming course at Otley college a few years ago in order to clip and maintain our own dogs which became crucial with Yogi who is a real hairy monster and needs regular bathing, brushing and clipping throughout the year to keep him looking gorgeous. We still attend regular training classes with our dogs in order to ensure they are well behaved, friendly and enjoy their best life with a mix of walks in a number of local settings - beach, river, woodland, fields and parks. If you have a particular route we might know it ! Danny and I are home all day so we are usually able to accommodate most requests. We usually visit a dog paddock each day so there is plenty of time to entertain and play with your best friends. We have a few regular visitors who have become great buddies with our own gang. We can stimulate with activities and agility within our secluded garden. Dogs have a variety of outside beds and furniture to snooze upon on sunny days plus plenty of comfy sofas for cuddles in the evenings. We have various size crates available should you wish us to set one up for your pooch. Danny made a super large bed for the kitchen so everyone can crash together, if they wish, to have a cuddle and snooze. We have a large oak frame gazebo outdoors providing shelter and shade whenever required. The garden is separately accessed from the patio area so we can supervise and play games together on the lawn. There is also a lovely log cabin at the rear of the garden to hang out in and catch the last of the evening sunshine before heading into the house for TV and late night sofa surfing. We are not open plan and therefore can setup an array of different sleeping areas within separate rooms as necessary.

As always our dogs love having Katrina to stay. We go away knowing the house and dogs are safe and having a wonderful time. We get lots of photos so reassured everything is all good at home. We can't recommend Katrina highly enough!

Katrina was fantastic! Luna absolutely loved meeting her and going on the lovely long walks in the paddock. Katrina sent us updates and photos of every walk which was very reassuring and so lovely to see. Will definitely book with Katrina again , she was so patient with us as it was our first time using rover and having someone mind our dog. Definitely 5 stars I would reccomend Katrina to anyone who is looking for a dog walker/sitter
