Pet care experience

Fur baby lover, will spoil your pup

Zac and I are experienced pet owners who absolutely love animals of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. As husky owners, we’re no strangers to lots of fur, energy, and big personalities! Over the years, we’ve cared for a variety of breeds and truly enjoy spending time playing with, caring for, and getting to know each pet’s unique personality. One of our huskies is a rescue who came to us with severe anxiety around people but has always been wonderful with other animals. That experience has taught us the importance of patience, understanding, and allowing each pet to feel comfortable at their own pace. We’re comfortable working with different temperaments and personalities and will treat your fur babies with the same love, patience, and care we give our own.

Katlyn, Zach, and their family made our little Missy feel like family during her weekend stay at their home. We really appreciated all the notes and the pictures shared while we were away. We look forward to sharing our Missy with their family the next time we travel!

Katlyn was awesome. She sent pictures each day and maintained great contact. She was very accommodating to our schedule which made traveling easier. If given the chance, my family would definitely use her services again for our dog.

Schedule

Our dog gets let out every 2 to 3 hours to potty and run around the yard. We typically feed our dog in the morning after they have been let out. Then we let them roam the house and play until the end of the day, when they are put into their kennels at night. During the week, our dogs are in the kennel while we are away. Dogs are free to roam my home; ours are kenneled when away for their safety, as they tend to get into things.

Safety, trust & environment

Zac and I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re in our care. We have a secure, fenced-in yard where dogs can safely play, explore, and get plenty of exercise, along with a friendly dog who loves having new friends to play with. We’re also rescue parents, so we understand that every dog has a unique personality and comfort level. One of our own dogs has severe anxiety around humans, and helping him feel safe and learn to trust took a lot of patience, consistency, and understanding. Because of that experience, we’re especially comfortable caring for shy, nervous, or skittish dogs. Our flexible schedule allows us to provide plenty of attention, playtime, supervision, and companionship. We’ll take the time to learn your pet’s routine and needs and make sure they feel secure, respected, and right at home while they’re with us.

A typical day

We believe a bored dog is an unhappy dog, so we like to keep our furry guests active, entertained, and engaged! We have a bin full of toys for dogs to choose from, along with plenty of time to play and explore in our fenced-in yard. We also love incorporating a little training into their day. If you bring their favorite treats, we’ll work on fun basics like sit, lay down, and stay. Dogs love having a job to do, and positive training keeps their minds stimulated while building confidence. Throughout the day, there will be plenty of playtime, exercise, cuddles, and one-on-one attention. We’ll follow your dog’s normal routine as much as possible while making their stay feel like a fun vacation of their own!

Before your pet’s stay, please let us know about any special needs, medical conditions, medications, allergies, fears, or behaviors we should be aware of. Knowing your pet’s personality and needs ahead of time helps us create a safe, comfortable experience for them. Please also let us know if your pet is still potty training, is prone to accidents, marks indoors, or occasionally has accidents in the home. Accidents happen, and we’re happy to work with your pet and adjust their potty-break schedule as needed. Knowing ahead of time simply allows us to be prepared and give them the best care possible. We’d also love to know their typical daily schedule, including feeding times, potty breaks, and bedtime. We’ll do our best to keep their routine as familiar as possible while they’re with us. Please bring everything your fur baby needs for their stay, including food, treats, bowls, medications, favorite comfort items, and a kennel if they normally use one. The more familiar items they have from home, the easier it can be for them to settle in and feel comfortable!
