Hi Rover! My name is Katie, and I just recently graduated at UC Berkeley with a major in Molecular Environmental Biology (MEB) and a concentration in Animal Health and Behavior. I used to work at the Richmond Veterinary Hospital and now I work at SJC Hospital. Please don’t hesitate to ask me questions about my job! From a young age, my dream has always been to become a veterinarian. Throughout my time at Berkeley, I’ve had the opportunity to deepen my understanding of animal behavior, health, and welfare, and I would love to put that knowledge to use by providing dedicated, compassionate care for your pets. I have interned as an Animal Care intern at Berkeley Humane Shelter, and have shadowed and worked at multiple different Animal Hospitals. I am very comfortable with both dogs and cats, and currently have a chihuahua terrier (Oakley) and an orange tabby cat (Waffle) at home :) Having spent the last four years immersed in Berkeley’s vibrant community, I am now home and want to give back in a way that aligns with my passion by ensuring that your furry companions receive the love, attention, and care they deserve while you're away. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or simply providing a comforting presence, I am committed to making sure your pets feel happy, safe, and well-cared for in your absence. I have experience working with a variety of animals and would love to tailor my services to meet the unique needs of your beloved pets. I have plenty of time and experience to dedicate to your pet. I understand how important it is that without their human, they still feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I will give them routine, affection, and attention, and am committed to treating your pets as if they were my own. This means being attentive to signs of stress, discomfort, or health concerns, ensuring that your pet’s well-being is always a top priority. And I’ll send you lots of pictures while you’re gone!
