Dogs need a little vacation too!
I've had dogs my whole life, but I adopted my very own dog at the age of 8 and have had dogs ever since. At the age of 18 I started volunteering at the local shelter. Shortly after that I received my certification as a Veterinary Assistant, I've monitored surgeries, drawn blood, administered medications/vaccines, and given lots of love to sick animals. I went from the Veterinary field into the Professional pet grooming which I currently do and love. I have 8 years experience in the pet grooming industry. Not only have I cared for my own pets for 20 years I've also done pet sitting/house sitting for my vet and grooming client's here and there for the last 9 years. My size requirements can be changed for the right doggie in my home or yours, just ask!

I'm always comfortable leaving my kitties in Katie's care. We had a leak in our ceiling the day we had to leave for our trip. Katie gave me regular updates and even emptied out the container we were using to temporarily catch the water. She was able to make it out even after the snow storm hit and made sure to top off food and water for the kitties in case road travel wasn't possible. Katie is always a great sitter, and I'd happy recommend her to anyone.
Katie always takes great care of the kitties and sends me plenty of pictures while I'm away (even of one of my kitties who is very shy and always hides). During this most recent stay, my smoke detectors started going off in the middle of her visit. She quickly called me to let me know and checked the house several times to make sure there was no cause for alarm. She took the time to do some research on the specific system I had and found that the issue was likely a fault (which I later confirmed). The rest of the visit went without further drama. It was such a relief to have Katie there.

Katie took good care of our cat when we were gone on a long vacation! She's very communicative, prompt, and thorough. I especially appreciate that she has a lot of experience and training with pets, just in case something does come up. We're already booking her a second time.

Schedule
I currently work 3 days on 3 days off and my Rover schedule refelcts that. My days off are my days with my two year old so you must be OK with my son accompanying me. He has gone to work with me more than once and is very respectful around dogs that aren't a part of our family.

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a cozy dog friendly cabin, with an empty lot in front for walks and potty brakes. I have two mature dogs of my own, and a part-time 2 year old roommate. The dog's: One sweet energetic 9 year old female, and a shy, but playful 7 year old male. I do not have a fenced yard, but conveniently live right off the bike pathe for safe off street walks. We also enjoy spending our free time at Kiva with the pup's.
