Pet care experience

Caring dog lover, looking for a doggy companion!

Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of hands-on pet care experience, including puppy training, behaviour support, and caring for pets who need a little extra understanding. I know that every dog is unique, and I take the time to make sure each one feels safe, confident, and genuinely cared for while you're away.
I have a soft spot for nervous pups because I used to live with one myself, my sweet family dog Olly, who struggles with anxiety. Supporting him through everyday challenges like meeting new people, unfamiliar sounds, and changes in routine has taught me patience, empathy, and how to read the subtle cues that anxious dogs give. I understand how overwhelming the world can feel for them, and I make sure to provide calm reassurance, gentle structure, and a predictable environment to help them settle. What Sets Me Apart * Trauma and anxiety aware care: I don’t rush introductions. I follow your dog’s pace, use positive reinforcement, and always create a low-stress environment. I am also training to become an psychologist and so have extra knowledge around this topic * Puppy training experience: From toilet training to basic commands and confidence-building, I’m comfortable supporting pups at all stages. * Clear communication: I send regular updates, photos, and honest feedback so you always know how your pet is doing. * Custom routines: Whether your dog needs quiet time, extra enrichment, slow walks, or lots of cuddles, I tailor my care to your pet’s personality. Your dog’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I want them to feel at home with me and I want you to feel completely at ease knowing they’re in experienced, compassionate hands.

Dog Walking • Jul 09, 2026

I can’t recommend Katie enough. She is a brilliant dog walker, totally reliable, and our dog Otis absolutely loves her. Otis is a nervous boy, and Katie was amazing with him. She has a very natural way with animals, and Otis certainly responded to that. She was also very involved in the behaviour plan he’s been given by a behaviourist, and was happy to work with us to help him feel more confident on walks. In fact I’d say she’s much more than just a normal dog walker, as she is very knowledgeable in understanding animals, and helping your pooch have the best experience possible ☺️

I couldn't recommend Katie more to look after your furry friend. She‘s a dog lover through and through and will give your pet the love and affection it deserves. She’s looked after my dog and cats many times since we’ve been friends and every time I know I’m leaving them in the best hands because she’s so trusting and kind. I have no doubt that Katie would be the perfect pet sitter for you 🐈🐕♥️

Katie looked after my dog for a couple of days while I was away, and I was comforted knowing he was being well looked after. He’s quite a nervous dog but he responded well to Katie straight away. She’s super reliable, friendly and took the time to understand my dogs needs.

Katie is a very responsible, caring and reliable person with a lot of experience looking after dogs. She gave us lots of updates and communicated well when she has looked after our dog previously! We would recommend Katie any day to look after your furry friends!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I am currently studying a psychology doctorate and so have a mix of uni and study days. This means I have flexibility and some time at home during the week and weekend to look after your pet!

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in an apartment
Has an unfenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has no pets
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a spacious flat with a big garden space. Your pet will be able to roam freely around my flat and will be allowed to sit on the furniture (if you allow this). The garden space isn’t closed off, but your pet will still be able to use this space on an extended lead so they can still reap the benefits of a big garden (whilst remaining safely within the garden).

A typical day

We start the day with a nice walk to get some fresh air and let some energy out. Back home, there will be fresh water and breakfast, and some cuddles. Throughout the day, I mix in playtime, fun activities, and plenty of affection based on your dog’s personality. In the afternoon, we head out for another walk and enjoy more play or cuddles. I send regular photo updates so you always know how your pup is doing. By the end of the day, your dog feels safe, happy, and treated like family.
