As a pet professional and business owner, I am devoted to providing the highest quality services. I will ensure your pet(s) safety, comfort, and happiness, as well as your satisfaction. I aim to go above and beyond by providing customized and thorough care. I am respectful of my client’s homes and communicative about each visit. Degree + Experience + Passion! Specializing in dogs who could use improvement with basic manners, new family members (adopted dogs, puppies), nervous, fearful, and reactive dogs. *Discounts available for clients on Schubert, Troy, and Cortelyou Aves, and parts of Ridge and Losantiville Aves. My schedule is currently flexible- I can often offer walks and drop ins as early as 7am and as late as 8:30pm. Based in Pleasant Ridge. I am the proud owner of Maple Tree Dog Training LLC. I believe that force-free training is the best way to effectively change behavior and build respect and communication with animals of all types, including humans. I strive to offer choices and reinforce the behaviors I like most and avoid forcing any animal to do anything. Learning and training should be FUN and POSITIVE. Fear and force has no place in our relationships. If your dog currently uses aversive tools or methods (ex. prong, choke, or shock collars) I would be more than happy to demonstrate how positive methods could be applied. Katie was amazing with our dog care. She managed all three very well and really thought about the best approach to our little guy who gets very guarded and anxious. She took the time needed to put him at ease while managing the 1 year old big pups and by end of visit he was seeming out her attention. So happy to be at ease when we need our pups cared for.

Katie is truly AMAZING! We have a feisty 15 year old Yorkie named “Friday”and we needed a drop in visit while we were gone for the day. Kaitie is highly experienced, compassionate, patient, and resourceful. Her communication was excellent and she sent us many wonderful pictures. We had tremendous peace of mind while visiting family off Cape knowing that “Friday” was receiving the best care possible! We highly recommended Katie!
Our elderly dog has health and minor behavioral issues. It's becoming increasingly difficult for us to find someone to watch him. Katie came over to meet Max and to discuss his needs. He immediately took to her and she returned the attention. We engaged Katie to watch Max for a full afternoon and evening while we were away. We felt like Max was in great hands, and we were right. She took great care of him and he was a happy pup when we returned. We give Katie a very strong recommendation and look forward to working with her again!
I’d like to up the number of stars to 10! Katie’s care of our 12 year old Chinese Crested and of our home was beyond perhaps even our own care. She was meticulous, joyful, loving, energetic and smart. Louie was a happy boy even without us and that’s what I had hoped for. I also appreciated Katie’s communication. For example, she accurately described certain of Louie’s behaviors so that we could confirm how we wanted her to respond to him. She explained how she planned to detach ticks after walks in Nickerson. She sent pics to us being careful about parking when she noted that the electric company had just marked with flags. The weather was challenging…Katie put two coats on Louie, picked him up and took him to “out” at 2am in high wind & pouring rain as he had awoken her and was circling. Most importantly Katie followed my instructions, easily administered Louie’s medications, walked him often, got to know our neighbors and fell in love with Louie. When we returned after 4 days, Katie left no footprint! I could not tell that she had lived in our house. I might add that Louie is not easy in some ways as he lounges aggressively at stranger dogs and passing cars. Katie has her own dog training business that is based on positive reinforcement which is exactly how I want Louie to be treated. We couldn’t have been happier with the gentle kindness that Katie had to us and to Louie. I recommend her 100%.

Schedule
Pet care is a daily activity in my personal life. I currently have a decent amount of flexibility and my schedule is filled on a first-come first serve basis. I often have availability in the morning, afternoon, and evenings, and limited availability on the weekends and holidays. I can occasionally provide overnight pet boarding services in my home, but a meet and greet with my dog is required to ensure I can host your pup while ensuring the safety, comfort, and happiness of both your dog and mine.
