** NOTICE A/O JUNE 18, 2024** Prices for new and returning clients will be increasing for any bookings initiated on or after July 15, 2024. I work M-F in a hybrid job and have some flexibility. I’m typically open to weekend boarding/sitting requests and can be available for weeknight check-ins with some notice. I believe structure and routine are vital for dogs and will always do my best to stick with the routine that YOU have set for your pup to ensure they're happy, comfortable, and fulfilled.

Safety, trust & environment
I value transparency and integrity and will always uphold these when caring for your dog and communicating with you! I'm open to any and all questions about my handling/caretaking, and welcome feedback if there's anything you'd like me to do differently in subsequent bookings. Every dog will receive my individual attention to ensure their fulfillment and safety! BOARDING: When boarding in my home, I will only ever have one other dog present (my own) to make sure all interactions stay manageable and respectful. Guest dogs will receive a lot of attention, structure, love, and may be kept on leash inside to guide them if unresponsive to verbal commands. We have a preference for medium/low energy guest dogs who are crate trained! SITTING/DROP-INS/WALKS: When in your home, I will always be respectful of your space and follow your directions as far as boundaries go: what spaces are off limits for me/your dog, what structure/guidance to give them, what they can eat, how they like to play, etc. I like to leave clients' spaces cleaner than I found them! I typically do not offer overnight sitting services (in your home) for brand new clients.

NEUTRAL GREETINGS: When meeting a new dog, I always let them get to know me in their own way. I wait for the nervous/shy dogs to come to me, and the jumpy/pushy ones are expected to settle before I engage with them. This way, your dog will be able to settle in and get comfortable with me in a CALM and NEUTRAL way. I look at greetings as an opportunity to give dogs the time/space to come out of their shell while I observe them for the individuals they are. I am fair and gentle in my expectations, respecting dogs’ boundaries if ever showing signs of discomfort or overwhelm in a new situation. WALKS: I believe the walk is the ultimate form of bonding, and the perfect way for me to get to know a dog (and vice versa). If staying in my home, every dog will get a minimum of 2 walks per day (~30-60min each depending on need). Happy to provide more if your dog is high energy! PLAY/ENGAGEMENT: I'm happy to tug, fetch, and play throughout the day! Engagement, impulse control, and obedience games are all in my back pocket, as I'm a big believer that mental fulfillment is just as important as physical fulfillment. SUPERVISION: Dogs will receive constant supervision and additional potty breaks between walks. OUTINGS: If your dog doesn’t have any problem behaviors that would be exacerbated by overstimulation, we can consider taking a local park outing!

Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Katie! I grew up always having dogs around, and friends/family often look to me for training advice or to watch their dogs. The first dog I've owned as an adult is 10yo shih tzu Luna--she's a formerly reactive dog that got me hooked on training. I've shadowed Samantha Johnson of Pack Life LA, and have worked with a handful of other trainers in OC/LA to learn more about dog behavior as a whole. Training has become a passion and hobby for me! Through all of our training experiences, I've gained ample knowledge on dog behavior, psychology, and body language. I'm confident that I'm a more knowledgable handler than the average dog sitter, with the experience, ability, and tools to take on power breeds, reactive cases, aggressive cases, and more. EXPERIENCE IN: Gentle leaders, slips, prongs, e-collars (will never use any tools without your permission/unless you already use them with your dog!) Crate training Place work "Yes" work Massage work Long line work Thresholds Impulse control Managing behaviors: Jumping, reactivity, resource guarding, alert/demand barking and more! ** NOTICE A/O JUNE 18, 2024** Prices for new and returning clients will be increasing for any bookings initiated on or after July 15, 2024.
Reviews

Katie is amazing and my dog loved her! She’s super thoughtful and communicative, will definitely be going back to her!

always so wonderful with Brody. Great communication and updates!

Katie continues to be the best dog sitter for our Tilly Girl. She’s always so caring in understanding Tilly’s routine, sends the cutest photos as updates, and make sure Tilly is as comfortable as possible while we’re gone. I can’t recommend Katie enough.

So thoughtful and communicative! So reliable as well. I know Brody is well cared for!!
