Availability

We'll be honest, our availability can sometimes be a little sporadic due to work and family commitments. However, please do get in touch, as we'll always do our very best to accommodate your request whenever we can. The good news is that evenings and weekends are usually a big tick for us, and we're often able to help out at shorter notice than our calendar might suggest. It never hurts to ask, the worst we can say is that we're already booked!

Safety, trust & environment

For us, the pets we care for aren't "just dogs" they're family. Every dog who stays with us is treated with the same love, care and attention we'd give our own beloved doggo (and, for that matter, our children too!). We know every dog is unique, so we'll always take the time to understand their routines, preferences and any special requirements. Whether that's medication, favourite walking routes, feeding schedules, bedtime habits or simply how they like their fuss, we'll do our very best to keep things familiar and comfortable. Our aim is simple: for you to enjoy peace of mind knowing your dog is safe, happy, loved and treated like one of the family while they're with us.

Information Katie H. would like to know about your pet

We want to know ALL about your dog and we really do mean all of it! No detail is too small when it comes to helping your dog feel happy, comfortable and settled. We understand that your dog is a much-loved family member, and every dog has their own personality, quirks and routines. What time do they like to eat? Where do they sleep? What are their favourite treats? Do they prefer a tennis ball, a squeaky toy, or simply following their humans around all day? Most importantly... do they enjoy a good tummy tickle? Please let us know about any medical needs, medications, allergies, fears, training cues or habits we'd benefit from knowing. The more information you share, the better we can tailor their stay and make it feel like a true home from home. We're always happy to arrange a meet and greet beforehand too, it gives us a chance to get to know both you and your dog, and for them to have a good sniff around and decide whether we pass inspection!

A typical day

A typical day in our house starts around 7am, with plenty of morning fuss and a 45-minute walk to kick-start the day. Whether your dog is an early bird or prefers a slower start, we'll make sure they're comfortable and settled. As we both work from home, weekdays are generally nice and relaxed. There's always someone around for company, cuddles and the occasional ear scratch. Around lunchtime, we usually head into the garden for some playtime, whether that's chasing a ball, having a sniff around or simply enjoying the fresh air. The afternoons tend to be peaceful until the children arrive home from school, which usually means extra attention and a few more fusses from eager dog lovers! After tea, we enjoy another walk of around an hour, giving dogs the chance to stretch their legs, explore and burn off any remaining energy. The day then winds down with plenty of cuddles, relaxation and a cosy bedtime, ready to do it all again the next day.

Pet care experience

We've had dogs for as long as we can remember and absolutely adore having them around. Sadly, after losing our much-loved elderly gentleman, we no longer have a doggo of our own, so we love welcoming furry visitors into our home and spoiling them as if they were family. Over the years we've cared for dogs of all ages, from tiny 8-week-old puppies discovering the world for the first time, right through to those enjoying their golden years. We have experience administering medication and providing eye, ear and paw treatments, so you can be confident your dog is in safe and caring hands. One of the biggest advantages of our household is that between my husband and I, one of us is usually working from home. That means there is almost always a human around for company, cuddles, playtime, toilet breaks, or simply keeping a watchful eye on things. No doggy conference calls just yet, but we're sure some would have plenty to contribute! We have a large, secure fenced garden with plenty of grass for zoomies, as well as decking and outdoor furniture for those dogs who take their sunbathing responsibilities very seriously. Just a short stroll down the lane are open fields where dogs can stretch their legs, explore new smells and enjoy longer walks. Whether your dog loves adventures, belly rubs, playing fetch, or simply snoozing in a sunny spot, we'll do our very best to make them feel happy, safe and right at home.

This was the first time we have left our dogs with someone we didn’t know. Katie & her husband was absolutely fantastic with our dogs who were very settled & happy in their home. The morning & evening pup dates & photos meant we went away with no worries knowing they were happy & well looked after. I would definitely recommend & use again.

Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Katie to look after your dog. We had never left our 2year old viszla with a stranger before but we needn’t have worried. Ronni took to Katie as soon as we first met her a few weeks before we planned to leave her and then on the actual day she was fine. Ronni was very chilled and relaxed, receiving lots of fuss and attention from Katie and her family. It really was home from home for Ronni. There were regular updates and photos throughout the day which put our minds at rest. Katie is very friendly, experienced with dogs and flexible on timings. We will most definitely be using Katie again!
