Availability
I work from home half the week and in the office half the week. I work 20 minutes from home so I am able to come home to let the pups out on my lunch break if needed! Nick works from home full-time so he is also available for midday care as needed.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a privacy-fenced yard in my new home and sidewalks in the neighborhood for leash walks. I have an extra crate and several gates to put in doorways/rooms to separate animals as needed. I have a room dedicated to pups for times when no one is home.

Information Katie C. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know a dog's overall temperament, their likes and dislikes, and any medical concerns they may have. I also like to know the commands the dogs are familiar with so I can be consistent when they are in my care. If they are not allowed in certain rooms or on certain furniture in your home, I will respect that in mine. I do prefer boarding crate-trained dogs for when I run errands, etc. but I am willing to take dogs who are not as long as there's no history of chewing on window trims, shoes, houseplants, etc. I would also like to know if your dog has a history of trash hunting or other searching and finding things to chew/eat. I typically don’t leave dogs out unattended, but these are good things to know so I can prepare my home accordingly. I would also like to know about leash reactivity/aggression, food aggression, or really any unique quirks I should be aware of. I understand that dogs have occasional accidents and some behavioral changes in a new place, so that is not a problem for me! I do have a cat, but he stays in a bedroom upstairs most of the time, and I usually shut the door when a dog is here to avoid any possible confrontations. He is very used to having dogs at home at this point, so I don’t have any concerns.
A typical day
I have many bones and toys to keep your pup interactive when unattended or when I’m just hanging out at home. I have a fenced yard to play in now as well. We can go for walks or on play dates with one of my friends that have dogs. I am comfortable taking your dog to a dog park if you are, but I would like to learn more about your dog before I do that.

**I'm Happy When Your Fur Baby Is**
Pet care experience
Hello I’m Katie! I am 29 years old and work for the City of Charlotte. I live in the Oakdale North/Mountain Island area, but I’m will to work out pick up/drop off for clients that are a little farther out. I grew up always having pets and being around animals of all sorts and I just love the company of animals. I've been pet sitting on a small scale since I was 13, and it has always been something I love to do. I started with Rover in 2016 and have been sitting ever since. Additionally, I have always had pets in my home, so I learned responsibility very early on, and still maintain that quality. I am willing to make any accommodations necessary to keep your fur babies happy while they are in my care. I have had my profile inactive for a couple years and have only taken personal repeat clients, but I am ready to grow and meet more people and pups! I am working towards my training certification, so I would like to continue gaining experience with various animals and their behaviors. I have also been bringing along my partner Nick so he can learn the process as we move toward a growing business out of our home. He always had a dog (or three) around. Currently, we only own a cat so we have a great environment for pups that prefer to keep to themselves and a fenced yard!

Reviews

We have an infant and have had a couple last minute emergencies. Katie takes our fur baby last minute on many occasions and absolutely loves her like her own dog! Charleigh is always well taken care of, even spoiled! Thank you for everything you do for our growing family!

As always, Katie took great care of our dog, Lulu! We always know she’s in good hands with Katie and will continue going back to her when we need a dog sitter.
Katie is great with my dogs. I really appreciate knowing that they will be safe and well cared for with her.

Katie is awesome! She took great care of our Maverick. He made some new friends. She sent pics and updates daily. She answered texts when we were missing him and checked on him. She gave us peace of mind on our vacation. Will 100% use her anytime we need a sitter. Definitely 5 stars.
