I have always had a dog in my life except for a few years here and there. When I was young, my family had duachtson's and Samoyeds. When I lived on a farm I had a sheltie colie and for the last 10 years I have rescued and rehabbed 2 different American Eskimo dogs from puppy mills. My first American Eskimo was deaf and did not have teeth so I taught her commands in sign language. She had lots of medical issues, but I was able to bring her back to being healthy within a year with the advice of my vet. This included cooking her a special diet and giving her medications daily. My current Eski was caged for six years of her life and has only been out of the cage for a year. She was never socialized to people or dogs and is dong very well with other dogs and familiar people. My experience with dog sitting has mostly been with my family members and neighbors, but they will tell you I am very reliable and good with other people's dogs. I am a firm believer in dog training and I have gone through beginning and intermediate training with most of my dogs. I have also worked with a behavioral trainer and feel I have a good understanding of how to work with dogs. I will treat your dog with love and respect and make sure they are safe.

Kathy took great care of my cat! My cat is skittish, but she warmed up to Kathy quickly. It was great to come home to a happy, well cared for cat after a few days away.

Schedule
I work full time but always have time to get the dogs out before and after work and before bed. If necessary I have a neighbor that is also a Rover sitter that can get the dogs out when in the afternoon when I am at work. On the weekends the dogs and I get out at least 4 times a day which includes a good 20-30 minute walk or play of leash in a fenced area.

I usually walk he dogs around the lake and around the condo community and have a fences area that they can play off leash. I do crate the bigger dogs while I am at work unless I know them well, I also gate off the kitchen and trash area.

A typical day
I live near a wonderful path around a lake that I like to walk daily. I also have a dog park close to my house. I like to go out and play fetch and visit other neighbor's dogs. In the house I like to teach the dog tricks and give treats.
