I handle the pet care with my fiance John who is also well versed in dog and cat care. With dogs, we are able to provide 3 walks a day at least, with our dog Phoebe or separately if needed. From Monday to Thursday, your dog will need to be alone 6-8 hours in a room or in crate while we work. From Fridays to Sundays I am available all day to provide care. For dogs and cats, we are able to accommodate their personal feeding schedules, and walk them as requested as they work with our schedule. On free days, we can take dogs on nice long walks around the neighborhood or even hang out on our private balcony.

Our home is on the third floor and has lots of space to accommodate our 2 cats and 1 dog and any animals we are boarding. Our home is able to be sectioned off into separate rooms or areas of the house due to our layout. We generally like to hang out with all the animals, watch tv, and at night time dogs can sleep with us if they’d like or just within our bedroom. Crates or separate rooms for bedtime can be accommodated too if needed. Dogs and cats can roam the house if introductions are good with the resident animals, and if not we have plenty of different rooms to house them safely. My dog Phoebe gets along with most dogs, but can be intimidated by larger energetic dogs, so meet and greets are generally a good idea to see if everyone gets along. We have been able to just keep animals separated in different rooms before with no problem.

Let me know if your dog or cat has any special needs or triggers for reactivity. We are always able to accommodate within reason and keep your pet and our pets safe during the stay. Please list any medications that would need to be dispensed. Please provide pee pads if your dog has trouble holding their bladder inside or if they would need it for a longer day alone during the weekday. We may host up to 2 dogs or cats at a time, but let me know if you would like your pet to be the only guest for their stay.
A typical day
Typically we will be able to provide enrichment, toys, treats, and lots of love and cuddles to our boarders. We like to take long walks with our dog Phoebe around the quiet streets surrounding our house which your dog can join in on. For cats, we have lots of perches and window space for rest and viewing outside, as well as treats and chaser toys. If you’re comfortable with your dog being brought along with Phoebe to some adventures, we like visiting family either a 10 minute walk away or in Somerville, with the latter area with a fenced yard and a very friendly dog named Fig who is Phoebe’s best friend. We can also just keep your dog at our home and only within the vicinity of our neighborhood for walks.

I have extensive experience caring for cats from kittens to seniors, including administering oral medications. This includes my own cats and also family/friend cats. I have my own rescue pit mix dog who has needed some patience to build her confidence and I’m proud of the work we’ve done together in the 1+ years together. She has given me experience in working with a reactive dog and how to keep them comfortable and feeling safe in different situations. I’ve also worked as a kennel assistant handling meal times, medication, day cares, walks, and clean up. I have always loved pets, from hamsters up to big 100 lbs dogs. I will treat your baby with love and respect and understanding of their needs.

Kathy is such a wonderfully warm person and even though my dog is used to his space and alone time, I had no reservations about leaving him with her and the other pets in her home. She sent photos so I could stay up to date, and when I was sick on returning from my trip, she was so helpful in getting my dog back home. 100% recommend :D

Kathy was so accommodating and responsive! And she sent pictures of Frankie all day long to keep us posted. It was Frankie’s first experience in a house with cats so we were a bit worried, but everything worked out great and all the animals lived in harmony. We will definitely book again!
