Pet care experience

Loving care while you're away

I am hoping to help others while they are away at a reasonable rate since I realize how important it is to have trusted care. When I said goodbye to my rescue dog she was a couple months shy of 14yrs old. I made the decision not to get another dog, but would enjoy to give the love and compassion I still have to your animal whether it be young or old, dog or cat. I have had cats in my home for 30+ years…..my current cat will be 14 in July 2026.

Kathy did an excellent job with Kitty Wompass. Apparently Purrty was abit standoffish. He did come out of his hiding when I got home. Thank you so much for caring for my babies.

Schedule

I do have two other part-time jobs. January to June is the busy season for one, so I work a variety of hours but after June it’s mostly evening hours. It is hard to keep the calendar on Rover up-to-date because I may not be available in the morning and afternoon, but I am in the evening or vice versa. Please just be sure to check with me and I can let you know my schedule and I will get back to you as quickly as I can. I can be available on pretty short notice at times. For daycare and boarding clients- I will only be taking one family at a time so your dog(s) will be getting my full attention. (Which is why my rates are higher). I can only take dogs that will stay in a kennel if I need to run out and do a drop in or a dog walk for other clients, or if I have to work a shift at my other part-time job which usually is no more than four hours (I would let you know at the time of booking). I also need the dogs to be able to sleep in a kennel overnight. I have a good size fenced in backyard, which I have posted pictures of so I typically let the dog(s) out every two hours and keep an eye on them while out. I can only take smaller dogs… unfortunately Rover’s requirement categories go by weight rather than size . If I do book a stay with your dog(s) for daycare or boarding, I would be sure to not accept any other bookings during that time unless it was already on my calendar. I like to give as much time to the pets as possible.

Safety, trust & environment

I would love to take your dogs for walks, but am also fine with keeping them home and playing in the yard if preferred. I am fine with cats laying on my lap and would be willing to brush them if desired. I have a high gross tolerance, so am fine with cleaning litter boxes, cleaning up vomit, picking up waste in yard. etc... I also have experience with cats & a dog that had diabetes and needed insulin shots.

Pets

A typical day

I will take your dog for a walk near your neighborhood and/or play in the yard. I enjoy walking anywhere, parks, neighborhood streets, hiking trails, etc....If your pet has a favorite toy I would love to play with him/her. As stated earlier if it is a boarding or daycare situation in my home, I will be home as much as possible during your pet’s stay.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Takes only 1 client at a time
Kathy can host up to 2 pets per night
When we talk I'll find out from you your pet's favorite activities as well as how long of a walk your pet can tolerate. I will not be walking any other animals but yours. I'll need to know how your pet is with others, although when out for a walk I'd prefer to avoid other people's pets since I would not be familiar at first with your pet's personality...by this I mean that I would not encourage other people's dogs to come over and say "hi" to your pet, unless of course we had talked about certain neighborhood pets that your animal(s) is familiar with.
