I’ve been a dog owner for many years and have had three Shar Pei of my own. Shar Pei can be a challenging breed, and all three of mine experienced health issues over the years, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs who need a little extra patience and attention, including administering medications. I no longer have a dog in my home and have recently been dog sitting for friends and family. I’ve enjoyed it so much that I decided it was time to expand! I truly enjoy having dogs around, taking them for walks and giving them plenty of attention. Your dog will be treated like part of my family, not a guest.

I have known Kathy for 38 years, since 1988, and she is truly one of the most caring and loving people I know. Over the years, I’ve watched her raise her son and be an incredible dog mom to many very lucky dogs. The way Kathy treats animals is much like the way she treats the people she loves with the utmost respect, patience, unconditional love, and, of course, plenty of spoiling! Kathy is a very special person with a huge heart, and I would trust her completely with any beloved pet. Anyone who chooses Kathy to care for their furry family member can feel confident they will be treated as one of her own.
I am so fortunate to say that Kathy Balestrieri has been a dear friend of mine for 20 plus years. She is compassionate, patient, caring and selfless. She provides a loving and nurturing home for her family. And by "family," I mean not only her husband and son. Her dogs have always been her "precious babies." I have watched Kathy raise and care for three Shar-Peis, providing them with warm, loving care. I cannot think of a better or more responsible care-taker for any dog than Kathy!
Kathy has always been a wonderful pet owner. She always went above and beyond with her little ones. She will make an amazing caregiver to all pets. She is caring along with her entire family. I would recommend her for taking care and responsibility of all animals.
Kathy is one of the best dog parents I have ever met She has in the last 15 years or so had three Sharpeis which she took unbelievable care of. One of them was a rescue and came from an abused home. Kathy will take exceptional care of any Dog who is lucky enough to stay in her home..
Kathy is a true lover of the pup! She and her husband rescued two dogs and gave them the best life ever. Kathy is also very diligent and responsible and will remain very committed to her clients.
Kathy is the most caring human who truly loves dogs. A experienced dog owner herself, Kathy is calm, gentle and loving. Dogs gravitate to her everywhere she goes and I couldn’t recommend her more. Whether it’s going for a nice long walk or curling up on the couch, dogs are happy to be with Kathy. She is responsible, safe and communicative - she’s the just the best!

Schedule
I work outside of the home during the week, but I have flexibility in my schedule and plenty of time to give your dog the attention, exercise and companionship they need. I enjoy walking and being outdoors, so daily walks are something I genuinely look forward to. When I’m home, your dog will be right there with me as part of the family.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fully fenced-in yard where your dog can safely spend time outside, and there are currently no other pets living in my home. This allows me to give your dog lots of individual attention and makes my home a comfortable option for dogs who may prefer not to be around other animals. I’m experienced with administering medications and caring for dogs with health issues and special needs. I’ll also follow your dog’s normal feeding, walking, sleeping and medication routine as closely as possible. Above all, I want your dog to feel safe, comfortable and at home while you’re away.
A typical day
Your dog’s day will be based on the routine they’re used to at home. I enjoy walking, so we’ll get outside for walks and plenty of fresh air, along with time to play in my fenced-in yard. When we’re home, they can relax, play or curl up with me. I want their stay to feel like home—not a kennel or boarding facility.
