Care & Companion for your Pet

We are a family that loves animals. I spent a year in formal training with my dog to certify her as a therapy dog when she was younger. We are comfortable giving most medications as we have experience with our previous senior dog.

Kathryn and her family did a great job caring for my dog Murphy. We had an initial meet and greet to make sure it was a good fit for the dogs and they sent lots of updates and photos so I could feel confident Murphy was being well taken care of. Murphy had a great time and I would definitely recommend Kathryn to anyone looking for a dog sitter.

Katherine took great care of our pups. One of our dogs is a senior with some medical issues and she needs a little more care and attention. We had peace of mind knowing that she was in good hands and was well taken care of.

Our pups seemed to thoroughly enjoy their staycation and received excellent care! We appreciated the updates and pictures, and smooth drop off / pickup! Highly recommend and would love to stay again :)

Schedule

I'm home caring for my kids and dog so we have plenty of time and flexibility to care for your pet. My husband works from home most of the time so he typically is home to help too if needed. We try to follow the visiting pets routine, rules, commands, etc.: as much as possible.

Safety, trust & environment

We know from experience that it is hard to leave your pet while traveling. We do our best to answer your questions and alleviate any concerns while you are away. We love having visitors and caring for them like our own furry friend. We have a good sized fenced yard and love to walk if your pet likes to join. We enjoy playing games with the dogs if they like and giving belly rubs. We like to do meet and greets in our backyard to let your pet get to know us and our yard and to ensure a good fit for all.

Pets

A typical day

I walk and we walk as a family regularly. There is a lake in our neighborhood we often walk to. There is also a nearby park we like to visit. For dogs liking extra exercise we run and hike often and they can join. My youngest is very good with dogs and loves to help with our furry friends. She is a great ball thrower for those that like to play catch. My dog Cali is very sweet and accustomed to other dogs. While she is aging, she enjoys having the other dogs around for companionship and some backyard sniffing.

Of course dogs that are of good temperament and well house trained are preferred. We have kids that are accustomed to all types of dogs but if you are uncertain about your dog and kids, please ask me. Sometimes it can work and sometimes not. Due to the aging nature of my dog, I only consider large dogs if they are older and low energy. If there are possessive or agressive tendencies for certain circumstances (ie food, toys, etc.:) please let me know. Similarly if your dog has anxiety or is stressed by certain things (ie vacuum, thunder, etc.) so that we can work out a plan. If incontinence health issues or puppy training please let me know so we can discuss whether we would be a good match. Also, if your dog knows commands please be sure to share what words and/or hand signals they are accustomed to. In case of emergency, if your vet information is not in rover please text me that information before your stay. Please be sure your pet is up to date on all appropriate shots and heart worm & flea medication. If your dog uses a crate please bring that for their first stay. Send any special toy or treat you’d like them to have. I have extra bowls, balls, & pet beds they can use (though of course if you prefer you can send your own.)
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
