Availability
Currently, the only limiting factors to my schedule are recurring ~1-2 hr blocks in the mornings and afternoons daily for my delightful neighbor pup with a set priority schedule, and my own heeler mix puppy that road-hauls me around the county.

About Kathryn S.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
Making sure that the pet trusts me and is comfortable and safe at all times is paramount to me. If this means taking extra time to get to know each other or learn about special needs, all the better. I have an open communication policy, and I consider everything off-limits in a home if access isn’t explicitly discussed. The less evidence that I was ever there (aside from a happy pet and cleaned messes) the better.
Information Kathryn S. would like to know about your pet
It’s important for me to know about any health and behavioral issues your pet has, so I can understand them and ensure the best possible experience for everyone. If there’s training you’re working on, please make me aware of it so I can be consistent with it. I have experience with reactive pets and as long as I have an idea of what to expect and possible triggers, everything goes smoothly. Knowing things your pet likes so I can provide them is equally important as knowing things to avoid. I’m a scientist so I love data and information, I can never have too much. Feel free to write me a novel about what your pet loves, what your pet dislikes, do they have a nemesis in the neighborhood, do they have a friend they like to visit, fears and quirks, bizarre fascinations, all of it is good and worth knowing.
A typical day
I like to meet the pet at their level and cater to their needs and comfort zone. That can mean anything from napping on the couch to wrestling on the floor, or going on a fun adventure with prior parental approval and appropriate means. If they have a friend, I’m open to arranging and monitoring play dates. I’m particularly fond of making treats into an opportunity for games or puzzles.

It’s never a bad time for adventure
Pet care experience
If it has legs, I’ve probably walked it! From huskies, to thoroughbreds, to bearded dragons. The bulk of my experience is with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I’ve cared for puppies, seniors, and provided palliative care. I’ve been a sitter for cats and dogs, and I also have experience caring for small and exotic animals. If your pet needs some special attention or is shy, we can meet prior to get to know each other better. If you have training you’re working on, loop me in so I can help be consistent. I like being an open communicator with pet parents to ensure everyone has the best experience and that I am offering the best care possible.
