I work full time from home, so I am almost always here to tend to the dogs. Caring for my own two dogs is an important part of my life and I make sure I’m always meeting their needs. I have two children who live with me 50% of the time. They are 9 and 4 and have lived with small, senior dogs their entire lives. They are very respectful of dogs and I never leave the kids with the dogs unsupervised. I’m very vigilant about how my kids interact with dogs.

Let me know if your dog has a specific schedule to be followed - feeding time/walks/etc. I’ll want to know how much food you feed and at what times. Whether or not you free feed. My home has stairs, please let me know if your dog has any issues with stairs. I’m able to carry smaller dogs up and down the stairs.
A typical day
My dogs are pretty old, so they like to sleep and snuggle most of the time. I’m happy to do whatever your dog likes to do! I have a fenced in yard that my dogs love to explore. I will walk your dog as requested and we love to play with toys inside and outside.

Pet care experience
I have a special interest in senior dogs. I have a 17 year old dachshund mix and a 12 year old dachshund. I have adopted hospice dogs and have been a hospice foster. I have experience as a dog foster for rescues in the Twin Cities and am also a volunteer at Animal Humane Society. I work from home and am here most of the time. No problem administering meds, including injections.

As an avid dog lover, especially senior dogs, when we needed a dog sitter during our family vacation for our 13 yo little guy, Katie was the first person I thought to ask. I knew she would care for him with the same love that we show him. Her two dogs got along great with him, and the kids loved having him around. She sent us pictures almost every day and I could tell he felt comfortable and at home. It’s hard to leave a pet in the care of someone you might not know well, but I can guarantee that Katie will love your dog like her own and make sure all needs are met. She is simply the best!
Katie is an absolute lover of animals, especially dogs. That's why I trusted her with my 10 year old daschund. He was well cared for and attended to. When he returned home he was in great spirits and healthy. I would highly recommend trusting Katie with your dogs and pets.
