Pet care experience

Pet sitting and walking

I have hands-on experience caring for a wide range of dogs with different needs and temperaments, supported by a lifelong passion for animals—especially dogs. I regularly cared for an elderly German Shepherd, providing gentle walks and consistent pet sitting support. I also own a six-year-old Jack Russell with a history of dog aggression, which has given me strong skills in managing reactive behavior, reading canine body language, and maintaining safe, controlled environments during walks and social situations. In addition, I frequently look after my auntie’s two Labradors, ensuring they receive plenty of exercise, attention, and routine care. I also completed an Animal Management course at college, which included grooming training and further strengthened my understanding of animal care and welfare.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I prioritise maintaining their familiar routine and environment. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walk times, medication needs, and household rules (such as crate use, furniture rules, or boundaries). I keep the home tidy, clean up after the pets, and ensure their living spaces—like litter trays, beds, or food areas—are well maintained. I offer playtime, companionship, and regular check-ins so pets feel secure while their owners are away. I also provide consistent updates, photos, and communication to keep owners reassured.

Kathryn stayed with my dog Mollie while we went out for boxing day drinks. We kept in touch and I got sent photos and Mollie seemed happy and calm with her. Thank you. I will use Kathryn again. :)

Kathryn was great with codi. Booked last minute, she turned up early so she could ask some questions. Sent lots of updates and photos. Codi loved having her here to stay and cuddling with him whilst I was away for the night. Will definitely use Kathryn again. 5*
