I work from home full-time, so I have lots of time to care for your pets. I love taking breaks to walk or play with dogs, or give kitties attention. Typically, pets will be alone no more than four hours per day (usually less time than that and infrequently) or whatever you as the pet parent deem appropriate. My goal is to keep your babies as close to their normal routine as possible.

Safety, trust & environment

For house-sitting requests, I will stay overnight in the client’s home. I’ll schedule an initial meet-and-greet, typically in the client’s home. This is helpful for all parties to ensure everyone is a good fit. While I’m there, show me where the supplies are, and I’ll make sure your pets are taken care of during my stay!

Information Kathryn R. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your pet has any special needs, medications, quirks or behaviors to be aware of, as well as whether they are dog or cat-aggressive, do they guard resources like food, are they at all reactive, etc.

A typical day

I like to walk dogs in the local neighborhood where the client lives, if safe to do so. There will be lots of playtime and snuggles. With cats, I make sure to actually lay my eyes upon them each visit, even if they’re skittish and in hiding. I’ll offer toys and possibly treats (if allowed) to them while I’m there. And if they’re friendly, lots of pets and chin scritches!

Pet care experience

*INSURED & BONDED* I’ve been caring for animals as a pet owner my entire life, and more formally since working at a dog kennel starting in 2003. I am experienced in caring for many breeds, personalities, and quirks. My dog specialties include dachshunds, golden retrievers, pugs, Australian cattle dogs, pointers, pitties, shih tzus, puggles, and all kinds of mixed breeds from small to large in size. I’ve never met a dog I don’t like, and I’m that girl who will walk up to dog owners asking if their dog is friendly and if I can pet him/her 😂 You can expect me to provide all care including meals, walks, cleanup, playtime, quality time and snuggles. I will give them the love and attention they deserve while you’re away from home. I have experience with senior and special needs dogs, giving medications and insulin shots. I have some experience with reactive dogs, as well as leash pullers. I also absolutely adore cats! I have many years of cat care experience, and my own cat is the light of my life. I will give your kitties the time and space they need to adjust to me while ensuring their every need is taken care of. I will feed them, scoop litter and/or change litter during longer stays, and give them all the love they’ll allow. As if I didn’t have enough animals in my life, I also volunteer at the local humane society, assisting with fundraising events. Your fur babies are in loving and attentive hands with me!

Kathryn does such a great job with our dogs. She sends pics, communicates regularly and they are always so happy with her.

I am thrilled with Kathryn. She dogsat my two dogs for six nights and I came home to a house in great condition and two very happy and healthy dogs. She sent pics and updates throughout the week and they got tons of attention in their own home with no disruption to their routines. I’ve never been more comfortable and confident in a dogsitter for my furbabies!

Kathryn took excellent care of our dog for six nights! Our dog Ruby requires daily pills and Kathryn had no problem with this. We received photos and videos every day, multiple times a day, including updates about her behavior, moods, and whether she was eating/playing. We could tell Ruby was relaxed in her home and calm in her space, and was definitely bonded to her new friend. With Ruby’s meds we were nervous about leaving her for vacation but we never worried for a minute, and were able to enjoy my vacation knowing she was well cared for! Our home was also clean when we got back. We will be booking in the future!
