I care for your beloved pet just as I would my own. Schedules are kept the same as owners when it comes to feeding, potty breaks, walks, where and how they like to sleep at night, medications, treats, etc... Most importantly loved and cared for!

Information Kathryn P. would like to know about your pet

I would like the pet to be well mannered in the house. I would like to be told up front if there are any behavioral problems the dog may have, mainly aggression towards people or other dogs, problems with chewing or potty problems, digger or possible escape artist :). I will always have a first time “meet and greet set” up before any booking is accepted, so having a “well in advance” notice is alway extremely helpful. As for breeds, I LOVE them all!

A typical day

All the dogs I watch are kept on leashes during potty breaks if a fenced yard is not on property, where others are allowed to free roam, (well supervised, of course, in their own yard). I will walk them as many times as requested and play fetch as long as they want.

Pet care experience

Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time to read through my profile. I started with ROVER in 2016 and simply LOVE what I do!! First and foremost, I am an extreme animal lover and have had many, many pets in my lifetime, caring for all different types of animals big and small since I was 12 years old (54yrs.) I have been a mommy to small furry mice all the way up to an "Off Track Thoroughbred" dapple gray horse name Stella, who belonged to my daughter Zoë but I loved her just the same! I was the candy, apple, carrot lady at the barn. I also love birding and have been feeding many species of birds in my backyard for well over 10 years now, and enjoy spending time photographing them. My husband always said that I care for the animals more than I cared for him. Sometimes that was probably true but not intentional :) I have recently moved to the Volo, IL area in March 2025 from Venice FL. Last summer’s hurricane seasons turned out to be a bit much for me so I set my sights northward. I have set up house in a Redwood Apartments community here in March and am ready to start up with ROVER again here in the Land of Lincoln. I have always taken great pride in caring for others fur baby just as I would my own. I have looked after and cared for friends and families pets in their absence as well. I am kind hearted, playful, reliable, responsible and very well organized. (Please take a quick look at my client reviews) I will send texts and pictures, if you wish, to let you know just how much fun we are having during our time together. Your fur baby will love being with me because I truly do love and care for animals.

Kathryn took wonderful care of Chloe while I was away for my daughter’s wedding this weekend. Chloe was clearly well cared for, and Kathryn went above and beyond to comfort her during a storm and cater to her specific needs and personality. She communicated very well throughout the stay and provided a thoughtful summary afterward, which gave me great peace of mind. I’m very grateful for the excellent care she provided and would highly recommend her!

We would highly recommend Kathryn! Our cat is quite shy, but Kathryn was able to get her out for some pets during her visits. I’d you need a pet sitter Kathryn is it!
