I grew up on a farm and have been caring for animals for most of my life. Dogs have always been a big part of that experience, and I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, breeds, personalities, and energy levels. I’ve personally had everything from a German Shepherd to a Yorkshire Terrier, as well as experience with farm dogs, so I’m equally happy with a big dog who needs a good walk and a small dog who would rather have some extra attention and companionship. Growing up around animals also gave me experience caring for cats, dogs, rabbits, etc. I’m comfortable learning and following each pet’s individual routine rather than assuming that the same approach works for every animal. I also have experience caring for senior pets and animals with additional medical needs, including administering medications, giving subcutaneous fluids, monitoring for changes in behavior or health, and carefully following veterinary instructions. Most importantly, I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. I’m dependable, attentive, patient, and happy to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible while making sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection while you’re away.

When caring for pets in their own home, my priority is keeping them safe, comfortable, and as close to their normal routine as possible. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and household routines, and I’m attentive to details like securely closing doors and gates and keeping dogs safely leashed when outside. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their personality, preferences, and boundaries. I’m patient with pets who may be shy or anxious with someone new and will never force interaction before they’re comfortable. I also treat my clients’ homes with the same care and respect I would want someone to show my own. I’m dependable, communicative, and happy to provide updates so you can feel confident that both your pet and your home are in good hands while you’re away.

Schedule
I’m currently a full-time graduate student, which gives me a flexible daytime schedule. I’m generally available for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting during the school day while my children are at school. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I’m able to plan my coursework around scheduled visits so your pet gets my full attention while I’m there.
