If I were to house sit, I would definitely take care of your pet before and after, making sure their needs are met. I would like to be able to leave the house for any activities that would take more than a couple hours at a time. I now have a full time job, usually four 10hr shifts with 3 days off. I keep this as a side job during my main and cannot service the Sandy area.

I don’t watch pets in my own home, I just do house sittings. It also helps keep the pets at ease in a comfortable and familiar environment. I do my best to give them the same care as the owners (I always ask for information like any specific instructions on feeding etc.) if not spoil them a little more.

No breed preference. I'd like to know of their personality and habits, if they are/aren't trained, what toys they like to play with, if they are high energy or not, what food they like and if they are socialized around other dogs.
A typical day
I’ll usually walk them around the neighborhood, somewhere familiar. There are a couple of dog parks that I know of, so I could bring them there to exercise and play if allowed. I have a few toys like a laser pointer, tennis ball, and a frisbee we can use to have fun. I can also bring them on small hikes if allowed as well.

My name is Kathryn, I'm 32, and would gladly take care of your pet(s)! I’ve been a part of Rover for a while now. I have gained most of my experience with dogs (and cats!) through volunteering at shelters like the Humane Society and I've taken care of my relative's dogs and cats in the past. I do currently work with animals at my new job as well. Feeding, brushing, exercise and overall socialization is what I am best at. A few things I've learned through my volunteering experience and Rover is how to socialize pets and a smidge of behavioral training. Kathryn watched our dog, staying overnight with him for over a week. She sent pictures and gave frequent T updates. He seemed to really enjoy his time with her. She went above and beyond, giving him extra special treats and taking him on walks (we usually don’t have dog care givers do walks since he can be leash/dog reactive). We came home to a tidy space and a happy dog. We’d love to use her again for our next trip out of town.
Kat was great! The dogs seemed happy and well cared for when we returned. She gave us many updates and sent many pictures which was awesome. The house was clean and well cared for.
Kathryn , was wonderful and our Gizmo doesn’t like everyone! 🥴We were gone for over 2 weeks and Kathyrn kept in touch with us and sent pictures often. When we got home the house was neat and orderly. Mail ,and packages collected and plants all watered. 😁 But best of all Our Gizmo was happy and healthy!!
