Cambridge Dog Mom
Hi! We’re Kat & Matt, just a couple of dog-loving city dwellers. With over 10 years of pet care experience, we’d love to watch your fur baby for your next trip. We’ve got one pup in the house, Tony Bark (named after Tony Stark). Kat has worked through the health challenges of an aging pup, puppy training, and separation anxiety and brings all of that experience and expertise to provide you and yours with comfort and peace of mind during your booking. We live in an apartment on city streets. When we leave the pups home alone for up to 3 hours, we close all doors to separate rooms, so the dogs can only have access to the main living spaces. We have cameras set up to view all common areas of the apartment, so we can still keep an eye on things when we do have to step away! We are comfortable and have much experience administering oral medications and following specific dietary needs for our furry friends. We had a wonderful experience with Kat and Matthew! This was our Suki's first overnight stay away from home, so we were naturally a little nervous, but they made us feel completely at ease from the start with their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. They were very thorough with their drop-off instructions and were so receptive/attentive to the "Suki Care Guide" we provided, which was much appreciated! During Suki's stay, they sent detailed daily updates with lots of pictures and videos and were always quick to respond, which gave us so much peace of mind. Suki was a little anxious and whined her first night, but Kat and Matthew were incredibly patient and understanding, helping her settle in and become much more comfortable over the following nights. We also really appreciated that they kept up with Suki's regular grooming by brushing her during her stay, which showed how much they truly cared about maintaining her normal routine. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better first overnight boarding experience. Suki was in such caring, attentive hands, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with Kat and Matthew again. We highly recommend them!
Kathryn and Matthew are always so great with our pup! Bentley can get a bit nervous, but they always know exactly what to do to make him feel comfortable and at home. Great communicators and always punctual! We’ve loved having them watch our pup and can’t recommend them enough!
Nutmeg absolutely loved staying with Kathryn, Matthew, and Tony Bark. We had a good meet and greet before, and then when we dropped her off, our nervous rescue confidently left us for Tony. We got several good pictures and a couple videos of her lounging about, going on walks, and playing with Tony. When we picked her up, she was quite disappointed that she had to leave her new friends! Great sitting experience.
Kat and Matthew were so excellent with my dog. Last minute, I was able to book with them after another sitter cancelled on me a few days before I left for a vacation. They worked with me to figure out all the details last minute, and I’m so grateful. Then, after flights were delayed, and I couldn’t make it back to town in time, they graciously offered to keep my dog one additional night. They also sent me daily updates with tons of pictures and videos, which I also really appreciated. This last minute booking turned out to be the perfect fit.
Kathryn and Matthew took excellent care of my pup and treated him as if he were their own! I received daily updates with pictures and videos and always felt confident that my dog was in great hands! Highly recommend :)

Schedule
Boarding: Matt works from home, while Kat works a hybrid job with a flexible schedule. We take Tony out for bathroom breaks AT LEAST every 5 hours and can definitely do more often than that if needed or wanted for your pet. We go for a daily walk around Cambridge and/or along the Charles River. When house sitting at your place, we can discuss what is best for you and your pup (only one human, 1 + Tony as a playmate for your pup(s), or 2 humans + Tony for a house full of love and fun 🥰 We try to be at the house and with the dogs most of the time, having to step away for work or social obligations for up to 2 hours at a time (for shorter stays) or 4-5 hours for longer stays. That won’t happen often, as we’re both comfortable homebodies and bookworms!

Safety, trust & environment
We do not have a fenced yard and always walk the dogs on a leash. Though we are in a great location for walks of all length including plenty of grass nearby. We can close access to non-common areas of the apartment and provide regular monitoring of the dog(s) in my care. Often, we sit in the living room on the couch to snuggle and snooze during the weekdays.
Pets
A typical day
We love a midday walk in this house. Between and after any Zoom meetings that occur, we get out for some fresh air. We have TONS of toys that your fur babies will be welcomed to play with inside the apartment with Tony. If the weather is nice on a weekend, we could even go further outside of the city for a leisurely hike or just to explore a new area (all new smells!)
