Our lives revolve around dogs

Dogs are all we do. We own five dogs of our own, we often foster with rescue groups, I have worked in dog training for the past eight years, and I have previously worked in an animal hospital for three years and animal boarding facility for two years. I recently finished serving a two year term as a board member of our local animal shelter. We love dogs and like to keep a balanced home. We incorporate a lot of obedience throughout our dog's days such as sitting for food and treats and waiting before they can go in or out of doors. I am willing to work with dogs that have behavioral issues and medical special needs (we have personally owned dogs on medication, blind dogs, and dogs that suffer from incontinence). I am certified in Dog and Cat CPR and First Aid. As an honest note, I'd like for you to be aware that our house is undergoing a home remodel process right now. We do not have any work done while dogs are staying with us- so no scary noises, strangers coming or going, or anything like that. Everything is safe, everyone is always supervised, and it doesn't affect the care anyone receives. But, cosmetically, it is rather unappealing right now. I just want to be very up front about that so you can factor that into your decision to have your dog stay with us. We have the ability to crate and rotate animals, so it is okay if your dog is not interested in making new friends. We do have cats, but, we do not mind putting our cats into a separate bedroom during their stay. We also have sheep, goats, and chickens but they are in their own secure enclosure that while your dog may see them, will not have access to them. We live on a dirt road in farm country- so it is a quiet area. We don’t really have neighbors. There isn’t a lot of traffic going by. People aren’t coming to going or walking past our house.

Safety, trust & environment

We live on a dirt road in farm country- so it is a quiet area. We have a fenced in yard and also a bit of acreage. We own long lines (30' and 100') so your dog can enjoy the fun of romping around, but still be safely on leads with us. We are able to crate and rotate.

Pets

A typical day

We live in 10 acres in the middle of no-where. So, we often take strolls down our dirt road or at the county park. Our personal dogs participate in agility, nosework, weightpull, frisbee, dock diving, obedience, and trick titles, so we spend a lot of our day training and working on various exercises.
