Pet care experience

A fun, reliable 🏃‍♀ for every 🐶🐱

As someone who considers themselves up-to-date on canine behavior, training techniques, and how to best enrich our best friends' lives, I feel more than equipped to board, walk, or check-in with any dog, even ones with some behavioral issues. I'm a state ranked animal handler and have been working with pigeon, chicken, rodents, cats, dogs, goats, since I was a child. As a professional, I have worked with and provided surgical and clinical care to various species of monkeys and rodents. I dog-sit, help train guide dogs, and have extensive experience with dogs from all walks of life! When with me, you never have to worry about your furry friend. I have experience with crisis management, de-escalation, capture, and handling even wild animals. I believe in forming a relationship with every animal I meet so as to better read the signals they give me about their mood and comfort. A secure pet is a happy one. A frightened pet is liable to lash out.

Kathryn took care of our little cavapoo Tiramisu for about 3 weeks while we were traveling abroad. While boarding with Kathryn we got regular updates on all the play time training sessions and snuggles! Kathryn also helped with coat and tooth brushing as well as using doggie shoes for outside time. She really took care of every little thing and gave our puppy a home away from home! Additionally, Kathryn expertly managed our puppy's health concern that popped up during the stay and made sure she was happy and healthy with close monitoring through the rest of the stay. Seriously Kathryn is the best and we really appreciate all she did for our puppy!

Kathryn took such great care of our dog! Tiramisu was always so excited to see Kathryn, and left daycare nice and tired after lots of fun play and walks. Kathryn was a great communicator and a quick responder. We would would definitely go to Kathryn for future needs for Tiramisu!

Kathryn was amazing with our two aussies while we were abroad in Europe! She sent so many updates and made us feel at ease the whole time. She was super responsive and attentive to the pups. They got so many walks and seemed like they had a great time! We will absolutely be reaching out to her again in the future.

Kathryn was excellent in her care of Finn. She was a great communicator, giving me detailed reports of her check ins and how he was doing. He’s got a lot of quirks and I felt confident in her abilities to handle them. Definitely recommend her service. Will be booking her again for future travel.

Kathryn is an exceptional dog walker with a deep understanding and love for dogs, evident from the moment you meet her. She has a unique ability to read your dog's cues and adjust her approach, ensuring your pet feels comfortable and safe. Kathryn's compassionate approach also extends to handling badly socialized dogs, which I have witnessed her expertly handle on numerous occasions. She takes the time to get to know each dog's unique personality and triggers, and is patient, gentle, and skilled in using positive reinforcement techniques to help them feel more comfortable and confident on their walks. Not only is Kathryn skilled and compassionate, but she's also incredibly reliable and responsible. She respects your home and property and keeps you updated on your pet's progress. Above all, Kathryn genuinely cares for dogs and goes above and beyond to make sure your pet is happy, healthy, and stimulated during their walks. She takes the time to play with them, give them love and attention, and clean up after them. Overall, Kathryn is the perfect choice for your furry friend. You can trust that your pet will be in the best hands possible while you're away, and you'll have peace of mind knowing they're well-cared for.

Safety, trust & environment

My default mode for pets is friendly trainer. I assess to see what their motivation is- play, food, or socializing, and use that to strengthen our relationship and to maintain any behavior/training goals while you (their primary caregiver!) are away. I realize that every pet has their own routine and schedule, so I make every endeavor to stick to what they're used to while acclimating to a new caregiver. Because I also live in a large two flat (which feels like a typical home) with a large fenced in yard, your pets have the space to stretch out in a calm, stress-free environment.

A typical day

I love visiting Chicago's beautiful parks! Humboldt, Grant, Lincoln, and Jackson are my favorites and they have plenty of space for us to stretch our legs on a jog.
